Kuruskhetra – Episode 439
Two weeks after the tragedy that altered the lives of those who live in Chandra Mahel… A Graha Shanthi Pooja is going on. The whole family is present and the pooja is presided by Kartik Agnihotri. Kartik looks around at his family and he sees everyone present. He looks around and notices that Rauktima is no where to be found.
Kartik: Krithika…
Krithika: Yes Dad?
Kartik: Where is your sister?
Krithika: She’s in her room.
Kartik: Bring her downstairs. This pooja will not start without her.
Krithika: Yes Dad.
Krithika leaves to get Rauktima. Shastra is taking care of a few things when she looks to the entrance of the house and sees Vayu walking in with Nirmala. She walks up to them.
Shastra: Welcome home Chacha ji, Chachi ji.
Vayu: How are you Shastra?
Shastra: Very well thank you. It’s nice to see you both after so long.
Vayu: It’s nice to be back at Chandra Mahel.
Shastra: Come in, we were expecting you for some time.
Vayu and Nirmala walk in and say their hellos to the others before sitting down at the pooja. Meanwhile… Krithika walks into Rauktima’s room and sees her standing in a corner of the room in her white sari.
Krithika: Didi…
Rauktima turns around to look at Krithika.
Rauktima: What are you doing up here? The pooja is about to start.
Krithika: I know. That’s why I’m here. Dad says that we won’t start without you.
Rauktima: Don’t be ridiculous. I can’t sit through…
Krithika: Di, come on… You know how Dad is, he won’t start until you come downstairs.
Rauktima: I…
Krithika: We can argue about this later but for now I need you to come downstairs.
Rauktima: Ok.
Rauktima and Krithika head downstairs. Kartik sees them coming and gives a signal to the pandit to begin the pooja.
Pandit: Kartik ji, the following rites have to be performed by the Badi Beta and Badi Bahu of the house.
Kartik: Yes of course… Soumil, Katya, come forward.
Soumil and Katya take their places and the pooja continues. Not long after, all the rites are completed and the pooja ends on a good note. Everyone stands up and starts moving around. Kartik walks over to Rauktima.
Kartik: How are your parents?
Rauktima: They’re doing a lot better now that they know I’m alright…
Kartik: And how are you?
Rauktima: I’m alright.
Kartik: Don’t lie to me. Tell me how you’re really doing.
Rauktima looks down and then she starts crying.
Rauktima: Chachu… I spent twenty years of my life trying to save this family from Urvashi and when I finally accomplish my goal… I can’t even be happy about it.
Rauktima breaks down and Kartik embraces her.
Rauktima: All I wanted to do is continue having a normal life with Aksh and Geet and our entire family… but…
Kartik: Shhh… it’s alright… it’s alright… everything is going to be fine. I know you’re very sad now but things will work out fine. Aksh would never forgive you for breaking down this way. He would want you to be strong. For yourself and for Geet. You showed so much strength in doing what you did with Urvashi… don’t stop now Rauktima. Don’t stop now…
At the other end of the room… Vayu brings Nirmala to meet Krithika…
Vayu: Krithika Di…
Krithika: Vayu, oh my goodness it’s so good to see you.
The two of them hug.
Vayu: This is my wife, Nirmala…
Nirmala: How are you Didi?
Krithika: Very well thank you. It’s so nice to finally meet you.
Nirmala: I guess we would have met sooner if you weren’t stuck in the asylum…
Krtihika feels uncomfortable.
Vayu: Nirmala, what are you saying?
Krithika: It’s alright Vayu… it is the truth.
Vayu: That’s not the point Di…
Nirmala: Vayu is right… I shouldn’t have said that… I’m sorry Didi.
Krithika: It’s alright. Just give me a moment I’ll be right back.
Vayu: Ok.
Krithika walks away and Vayu turns to Nirmala.
Vayu: What the hell is wrong with you?
Nirmala: Oh please Vayu… I didn’t say anything that bad.
Vayu: This family is just trying to get over all the bad things that have been going on over the past twenty years and you are just reminding them things they want to turn away from!
Nirmala: I just spoke the truth that’s all.
Vayu: If the truth is not nice then don’t speak it.
Vayu walks away and Nirmala smiles to herself…
Nirmala: Now that we have access to Chandra Mahel looks like life won’t be so boring. Back to Kartik and Rauktima…. Kartik is looking out into the great gardens of Chandra Mahel and Rauktima is right behind him.
Kartik: Look at what is spread out here before you my child. This is a vast kingdom and it needs a strong ruler. My time here is almost done.
Rauktima: Please don’t say that Chachu…
Kartik: Death is unexpected every time it happens but it certainly happens. You must learn to accept it, after all, it is the only truth of life. Every man and woman has a time that is given to them and when that time is over they have to move on to the next plane of existence. That is the way it works. My time will come too… but before it does, I need to make sure that the Agnihotri Empire is in good hands and that the generation that is to follow will take care of it like the Agnihotris in the past have.
Rauktima: I’m sure Soumil Bhaiyya will learn everything you teach him Chachu…
Kartik: I’m not talking about Soumil.
Rauktima: Anirudh then?
Kartik: No. You.
Rauktima is shocked.
Rauktima: Me?
Kartik: Yes you.
Rauktima: But why me?
Kartik: Because I can see that fire in you, the same fire that used to burn in me before I lost my way.
Rauktima: That’s just the thing Chachu… what if I lose my way just like you?
Kartik: I’m counting on it.
Rauktima is even more shocked.
Kartik: No one in this family is perfect Rauktima, you must have figured that out by now. But amongst this imperfect lot there is you who isn’t afraid to take a big step and put yourself in harms way for the greater good of this family. I’ve gone up against many enemies who’ve wanted to steal the happiness of this family in the past… but Urvashi was a different force all together and to have defeated her with patience that you kept inside yourself for twenty years… not even I could have done that.
Rauktima: But look at what it has cost me.
Kartik: Nothing in life comes free… everything has a cost. This victory cost you your husband’s life… but you also gained a second chance for this family to get together to be as one but now keeping them together is going to be the bigger challenge. Which is why you have to learn to drain your heart of emotions.
Rauktima: I can’t do that…
Kartik: Yes you can.
Rauktima: But why must I?
Kartik: Because emotions make you weak… I’m not saying you should stop feeling what you feel inside… all I’m saying is that you have to learn not to be controlled by these feelings.
Rauktima: How do you tell the difference?
Kartik: When you’re able to look at another individual for who they are and not base it on what you feel for them… then you know you’re in control.
Rauktima: I don’t know if I can do that…
Kartik: Yes you can and you’ve proved it with this battle you won against Urvashi. Now I want you to listen to me very carefully. I’ve been watching everyone in this house from the day I got back. Everything seems normal on the surface but something is not right with Manasvi.
Rauktima: Manasvi?
Kartik: Yes and I’m able to say that because I see more than just my granddaughter there… I see another human being who has issues just like the rest of us. That’s another thing we do you know… we think our children can never have problems but the truth is they do and Manasvi is going through something right now, something she doesn’t want anyone to know about.
Rauktima: Maybe I should talk to her then and…
Kartik: No… I want you to watch her closely and I want you to be able to see what I see. When you realize that what I’m saying is true then I want you to handle the situation.
Rauktima: How?
Kartik: When the time is right you will know.
Rauktima: I’ll try Chachu but as to whether or not I will succeed… I don’t know.
Kartik: We’ll see. One more thing.
Rauktima: Yes Chachu.
Kartik: I don’t like Vayu’s wife… what’s her name?
Rauktima: Nirmala?
Kartik: Yes, her… she’s a fire-starter. Keep an eye on her. With the amount of drama this house is capable of, I don’t want her adding new storylines to it.
Rauktima: Alright Chachu.
Kartik: I’m going to my room now. I’m tired. You go get some rest as well.
Kartik walks off and Rauktima takes a moment to digest everything he has just said to her. Then she looks up and sees Manasvi talking to Shubh. Manasvi is smiling and being her usual self. Rauktima thinks to herself…
Rauktima: Why would Kartik Chachu say that something is wrong with Manasvi when the girl is clearly alright?
While Rauktima watches, Manasvi gets a call and excuses herself to go out. Rauktima smiles and then looks around the room. She sees Geet in a corner and walks over to him.
Rauktima: Hey you?
Geet: Hey Mom.
Rauktima: How are you holding up?
Geet: That’s what I should be asking you. I’ve hardly seen you around in the past two weeks.
Rauktima: I’ve been in my room.
Geet: I know… and I guessed you needed some time alone.
Rauktima: Yes I did… but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time for my son.
Geet: I love you Mom and I’m so glad you’re here.
Rauktima: I love you too.
The two of them hug and Geet suddenly breaks down crying.
Rauktima: Hey… hey… it’s alright…
Geet: I miss him so much Mom. He was all I had all these years and now he’s gone.
Rauktima: I know… I know… I miss him too. But we mustn’t lose hope. He would never have wanted that. There is only one way to make sure his soul rests well… we have to live our lives to the fullest… the best way we know how.
Geet is fighting back his tears.
Geet: Yes Mom…
Rauktima: You know what? Your Mother is right here with you, cry all you want today, just let it all out.
Geet hugs Rauktima tight and continues crying. One by one the family members notice this. Shastra’s eyes fill up with tears. Dushyanth sees that she’s about to break down and walks over to her. He holds her while she cries. At the same time the others get close to their children as well. Unknown to all of them, Kartik watches this from upstairs… He thinks to himself…
Kartik: At long last this family is back together… So why can’t I shake off this feeling that something is not right? I’ve spent too much time following my instincts to not take this seriously. But that’s tomorrow’s problem. For now, the family is together and all is well.
And at the same time outside the house, Manasvi is talking to someone on the phone.
Manasvi: Don’t worry, my family has no idea as to what’s coming their way!
Kurukshetra – Episode 440
The next day… at Chopra Mansion… Vayu is reading the papers and Nirmala brings him his tea.
Nirmala: Here you go…
Vayu: Thank you…
Nirmala: You know I was thinking…
Vayu: Stop doing that.
Nirmala: What?
Vayu: Thinking.
Nirmala: Vayu ji… You’re always making fun of me.
Vayu: Quite the contrary Nirmala ji… You know when you start thinking, there’s only disaster at the end of the thought process.
Nirmala dusts herself and pouts and sits in front of Vayu with a long face. Vayu moves the paper aside and then looks at her. He rolls his eyes and then puts the papers down.
Vayu: Ok… what were you thinking.
Nirmala: Oh just be quiet. I’m not going to tell you.
Vayu: No come on I was just joking…
Nirmala smiles very slowly and then gets a bit excited.
Nirmala: Ok so I was thinking, now that everything at Chandra Mahel seems to have calmed down… why don’t we have a party here at Chopra Mansion and invite all of them.
Vayu: Nirmala… it’s been a little over a two weeks since Aksh Jeeju died… what will Rauktima Di think if we have a party here.
Nirmala: Vayu ji… Aksh Jeeju is not going to come back from the dead and Rauktima Di is going to have to move on at some point.
Vayu: Yes but…
At that moment in time Ashvini walks in…
Ashvini: Actually I think it’s a lovely idea.
Vayu looks up at Ashvini who comes and sits down next to the two of them.
Vayu: But Bua ji…
Ashvini: Nirmala is right. All of them have been through a very difficult time in the past. A party is sure to set the mood right.
Vayu: I don’t know…
Ashvini: Don’t think so much about it. I’ll handle all the arrangements. Besides, it’ll be nice to see all of them after all these years…
Nirmala’s eyes sparkle at that statement…
Nirmala: But Bua ji… if you really want to see them… why don’t you go to Chandra Mahel…
Ashvini stares daggers at Nirmala.
Nirmala: What happened? Did I say something wrong?
Vayu: No you didn’t… but the past of this family is best kept that way, in the past. Alright we’ll have this party then.
Ashvini: Lovely.
Nirmala: I’ll go to Chandra Mahel and invite them.
Vayu: No I’ll go…
Ashvini: Don’t be silly Vayu… let Nirmala do it.
Vayu: Alright then…
Nirmala smiles from ear to ear… Later that afternoon… at the college where both Nikhil and Manasvi study, Nikhil is walking along the corridors in between classes when he suddenly sees Manasvi leaning against a wall with a boy hovering over her. Nikhil thinks to himself…
Nikhil: Manasvi? What is she doing?
As he watches, Manasvi pulls the boy closer and kisses him in front of everyone present there. Nikhil can’t believe what he is seeing. At that moment a teacher walks past them…
Teacher: What’s going on here?
Manasvi and the boy pull away.
Manasvi: Nothing…
Teacher: Miss Agnihotri I want to see you in my office right now.
Manasvi: But…
Teacher: Right now! And you young man… I’ll deal with you later.
The teacher walks off and Manasvi follows and as she does she sees Nikhil who looks very confused. She doesn’t say anything to Nikhil and just walks off. Meanwhile… Back at Chopra Mansion… Ashvini is on the phone with Naren…
Ashvini: Don’t worry Bhaiyya… everything is fine at this end.
Naren: I’m glad to hear it. Vidhushi and I planned on being back home but then we decided to stay a bit longer in New York and then we’re heading off to Boston for a few days, thought we’ll catch up with Vanshita while we’re there.
Ashvini: Of course.
Naren: Vayu tells me you’re organizing a party at home?
Ashvini: Yes we are. We thought it would be nice to invite some happiness into our lives after all this grief.
Naren: We’ve been hearing about everything that’s been going on.
Ashvini: Tragic isn’t it?
Naren: It is. But anyway, as long as you’re there we know things will be under control at home.
Ashvini: Thanks Bhaiyya, you just enjoy your holiday and give my love to Bhabi as well.
Naren: Will do, talk to you soon.
Ashvini: Ok bye…
They hang up and Nirmala walks into the room.
Nirmala: Bua ji, I’m ready to go to Chandra Mahel now.
Ashvini: Alright… make sure you tell everyone that they have to come.
Nirmala: Will do.
Ashvini: Good…
Nirmala thinks to herself…
Nirmala: This is so exciting, finally some drama in my boring life here at Chopra Mansion.
Later that day… Manasvi walks into the house and as she does we see Katya waiting for her.
Katya: You’re back.
Manasvi: Yes Mom.
Katya: Good, I was waiting for you.
Manasvi: Was there something you wanted?
Katya: Yes actually.
Katya walks over to Manasvi.
Katya: How have you been these past few days?
Manasvi: Good I guess.
Katya: You’ve been feeling alright?
Manasvi: Yes Mom, what’s all this about?
Katya: Well you could say this was about a matter of respect, it’s also a matter of trust I guess but it could also be a matter of shame.
Manasvi: You’re talking in parables.
Katya: Am I now?
Manasvi: Yes Mom you are and if you can’t tell me what this is all about then I’m going to my room.
Manasvi tries to walk off but Katya grabs her by the hand and pulls her back.
Katya: I’m not done talking to you.
Manasvi: Mom, you’re hurting me.
Katya: Really? This hurts? What about this then?
Katya laces Manasvi’s cheek with a hard slap! Manasvi looks up in shock.
Katya: Did that hurt?
Manasvi: What ha gotten into you?
Katya: I don’t know yet but I swear it’s not good! Is this how I raised you? To be lurking in hallways at school kissing boys and misbehaving in front of everyone?
Just then Nikhil walks in and sees the commotion. He decides to slowly walk away but Manasvi sees him.
Manasvi: Oh… so now I get it. This little snitch came back and told you everything did he?
Nikhil turns around and Katya looks surprised.
Manasvi: You just couldn’t keep your mouth shut could you?
Nikhil: Excuse me what?
Manasvi: Don’t play dumb with me! You were there when it happened.
Nikhil: Manasvi what are you talking about?
Manasvi: Geez Mom did he also tell you that the boy I was seen kissing was actually forcing himself on me?
Nikhil looks shocked because he knows that’s not what happened.
Manasvi: How could you believe this drug addicts word over mine?
Nikhil looks hurt, Katya is shocked and she slaps Manasvi again.
Katya: If you don’t shut that mouth of yours up I know how to shut it for you do you understand?
Katya then turns to Nikhil.
Katya: You knew about this incident?
Nikhil: I….
Katya: Nikhil talk to me… did you know about this incident or not?
Nikhil: Badi Ma I….
Katya: Is this how you perform the role of a responsible brother? Everyone gives this girl too much of love and now she’s abusing our feelings for her.
She then turns to Manasvi.
Katya: Think ten times before you say things about the people in this house do you hear me? Nikhil did not say a single word to me and I’m disappointed in him because he didn’t but do you know why he didn’t? Because he cares for you and he didn’t want to get you into trouble. The school called me, that’s how I know! Imagine how embarrassing it was for me to hear that my daughter was caught kissing in the corridors of her college! You are the daughter of the Agnihotri Family for goodness sake! More is expected of you do you hear me?
Manasvi: I’m so sick of this!
Katya: Well it’s time to change your attitude then!
Manasvi shakes her head and walks off. Nikhil tries to leave as well but…
Katya: Nikhil.
Nikhil: Yes Badi Ma?
Katya: Come here.
Nikhil walks over to her.
Katya: Son… I’m sorry about what Manasvi said… she’s going through some sort of phase and I don’t understand why she’s saying and doing all these things but you know she didn’t mean it right?
Nikhil: Of course Badi Ma… But…
Katya: Yes?
Nikhil: You’re right, something is definitely up with her.
Katya: Will you do me a favor then?
Nikhil: Sure.
Katya: Will you keep a close eye on her and make sure she stays out of trouble?
Nikhil: Alright.
Katya: Thank you.
Nikhil smiles at her and she messes with his hair and walks away. Unknown to all of them Rauktima is watching this from one of the wings. She thinks to herself…
Rauktima: So Kartik Chachu was right all along… something is up with Manasvi. But what? What is making her behave this way? Whatever it is, I have to find out.
Meanwhile in Manasvi’s room… she slams the door shut and then pulls out her phone. She dials a number and calls someone.
Manasvi: Things are going as planned. Now it’s time to drop a few bombshells. I’ve convinced the boy I was with today to meet me at a hotel room this evening. Make sure the media is there. Take down the address.
Manasvi gives the hotel address to whomever she’s speaking with and then hangs up.
Manasvi: I’ve got to get dressed for a spectacle.
Kurukshetra – Episode 441
Nirmala arrives at Chandra Mahel… She walks in and Poornima sees her.
Poornima: Nirmala… come in.
Nirmala: Thank you Bhabi.
She walks in and then goes over to Poornima.
Nirmala: I’ve come to invite all of you over to Chopra Mansion.
Poornima: What’s happening there?
Nirmala: Well we were thinking, Vayu and I, there’s been so much that has been happening in the past few days and everyone seems to be so depressed… so we were thinking that maybe we should have a small party, nothing much, just family and friends.
Poornima: It sounds lovely but I don’t think it’s appropriate right now…
Nirmala: I know… but we can’t keep holding on to the grief in our lives forever now can we? We have to try and move on.
Just then Rauktima walks in.
Rauktima: Nirmala…
Nirmala: Rauktima Di. How nice to see you.
Rauktima: Likewise.
Poornima: Didi… Nirmala has come to invite us to a party at Chopra Mansion.
Rauktima: Oh?
Poornima: Yes and I was thinking…
Rauktima: We should go.
Nirmala’s eyes light up.
Poornima: But Di.
Rauktima: I know, we’ve just come out of a very bad period in our lives and it may be too soon… but then again, how do we know for how long this good period will last and while it does, we should make the most of it.
Nirmala: That’s exactly what I was saying.
Rauktima: We’ll be there.
Nirmala: Lovely… Bua ji asked me to make sure that everyone would be coming.
Rauktima: Bua ji? You mean Ashvini Bhabi?
Nirmala: Yes…
Rauktima: I see… tell her that everyone will be there.
Nirmala: Alright. See you tomorrow then?
Rauktima: For sure.
Nirmala: Great. I’ll take your leave then.
Rauktima: Ok.
Nirmala leaves.
Poornima: Didi, are you sure about this?
Rauktima: We have to start moving on at some point and what better way to start than with a celebration. Will you tell the others?
Poornima: Ok Di.
Rauktima: There is one more thing.
Poornima: What is it Di?
Rauktima: After Kartik Chachu’s instatement of me as the head of the household, there is something that I wish to do and I will inform everyone about what it is tonight. So it’s important that this whole family be present for dinner.
Poornima: Di you’re scaring me.
Rauktima: It’s nothing to be afraid of. It is a simple decision that will affect all our lives in a good way.
Poornima: We have faith in your judgment. I’ll inform everyone.
Rauktima: Thank you.
Rauktima walks away and Poornima looks worried. Meanwhile… Nirmala arrives back at Chopra Mansion… Ashvini sees her and walks over to her.
Ashvini: Did you speak with them?
Nirmala: Yes Bua ji.
Ashvini: And?
Nirmala: Rauktima Di has agreed that everyone deserves a good party, so they’re coming.
Ashvini flinches on hearing Rauktima’s name.
Ashvini: Alright, I’ve made the preparations, make sure everything is carried out well.
Nirmala: Of course Bua ji.
Ashvini turns around to leave and just then…
Nirmala: Bua ji…
Ashvini stops and turns around.
Nirmala: You’re not planning any… surprises are you?
Ashvini smirks.
Ashvini: Not that it’s any of your business Bahurani, but I’m not. And even if I were, then you’d be the last person to know about it. You know, back in the day when we were your age, we were far more subtle about the chaos we wanted to cause. But the children of today seem to have forgotten that if they want to cause trouble, there’s a way of doing it.
Nirmala is taken aback by this.
Ashvini: Honestly, some people have no class… Don’t you think Nirmala?
Nirmala is a bit peeved but smiles and nods her head. Ashvini walks off and Nirmala thinks to herself.
Nirmala: All this effort and for what? A good party without a good climax is almost like a dish that looks hot but tastes like milk.
Meanwhile at Chandra Mahel… The entire family has gathered to listen to what Rauktima has to say. Kartik sits in the middle of the great hall and Rauktima is standing next to him.
Rauktima: I know all of you are very anxious about why you’ve been summoned here. Let me assure you that there is nothing wrong. But before I start… Where are Nikhil and Manasvi?
Everyone looks around and realizes that the two individuals are not there.
Kartik: Jaya, Anirudh… Katya, Soumil… where are your children? The whole family was supposed to be here.
Katya: I told Manasvi but she doesn’t seem to be at home.
Kartik: What sort of an answer is that? You’re her mother, you’re supposed to know her whereabouts at all times and you Jaya? Where’s your son?
Katya: Apologies Chacha ji, if Manasvi is not at home then there’s a good chance that Nikhil is with her. I asked him to keep watch over Manasvi at all times.
Kartik: Why?
Katya: I’ve been feeling as though there’s something going on with Manasvi that she doesn’t want to talk to me about. There’s so much change in her behavior and I was worried about her. So I thought it best that one of her brothers keep an eye on her and I thought Nikhil would be the best to ask.
Kartik: Very well. But they should have been here tonight. After we’re done here I want Manasvi found and brought home immediately. If she needs to be spoken to then it has to be done now before… Well, I’ll let Rauktima tell you all the rest.
Everyone turns to Rauktima.
Rauktima: For many years we’ve been faced with many mishaps and tragedies. At times we’ve faced great danger and because of those times we’ve lost some of the most important people in this family. The war that has waged here at Chandra Mahel has turned this house into a Kurukshetra. We’ve all fought, at times against those who opposed us and at times against each other. We’ve been through hell and back, suffered at the hands of those who wanted to see our demise but now the time has come to take a stand and say stop.
We see the faces of all the family members as they silently nod in agreement.
Rauktima: So after a lot of thought and deliberation, Kartik Chachu and I have decided that the time has come to leave Chandra Mahel.
Everyone looks shocked.
Rauktima: I know that some of you may be against this suggestion and that some of you may wonder why it’s important to leave this house in order to start afresh. But it IS important and I want all of you to understand exactly how important it is.
Rauktima walks to one end of the hall and speaks almost personally to each family member as she walks across them.
Rauktima: Think about the lives we’ve lost in this house, think about the number of tears that have been shed, think about the curses that still linger in the hallways and scream murder at us late at night when we are asleep. Think about the times we’ve fought, the the things we’ve said and done, think about the tragedies and the pain that each and every one of us have gone through. The walls and doors and windows and ground and roof and everything of this house is dripping with the energy of those who have crossed these corridors and wanted their destruction. Think about the memories that are attached to each and every part of this house, they will only continue to cause us pain and suffering for as long as we live here. That is why it is time now to move on. That is why we have to start afresh and to forget the past, we have to leave it behind. We have to leave Chandra Mahel behind.
There is a moment of silence and then Nachiket speaks out.
Nachiket: Di, I don’t know about anyone else, but I believe that what you’re suggesting for our future is right. I think we should leave Chandra Mahel too. Poornima is with me on this.
Anirudh: So are Jaya and myself.
Soumil: Katya and I feel the same way.
Krithika: You wouldn’t have made this decision if you didn’t have the best interests of everyone in mind Di and because of that I’m with you in this as well.
Dushyanth: So am I.
Rauktima looks around the room at all who are present. She looks at Geet.
Rauktima: What are your thoughts on this Geet? What do you children feel? You should know that this decision won’t be made unless every single member of the Agnihotri Family is in agreement. So what say you?
Geet steps forward.
Geet: Mom, you must know that I will always trust your better judgment. I speak on behalf of all my brothers and sisters when I say that we’re with you as well.
Rauktima smiles at her son and then turns to look at Kartik.
Rauktima: It’s settled then. We’re leaving Chandra Mahel.
Soumil: But have you decided on where we should go?
Krithika: Are we shifting to Chandini Mahel?
Rauktima: No… the point of all this will be lost if we move there. That place is a replica of this house and as much as the place will be new, the memories will be the same. So no, we won’t be going to Chandini Mahel. Instead we’ll be moving to Pasadena in the US. Our house their has just finished refurbishment, it has been designed in Agnihotri fashion but looks nothing like Chandra Mahel. Agnihotri Incorporated will be handled from there and we will shift there completely. Our lives are headed for a huge change and…
Just then Geet’s phone rings… He looks at it and then back at Rauktima…
Geet: Mom, it’s from Nikhil.
Katya and Soumil exchange glances.
Rauktima: Answer it.
Geet does as he’s told.
Geet: Hello, Nikhil, where are you?
Nikhil: Bhaiyya… something terrible has happened.
Geet: What has happened? Are you ok? Is Manasvi ok?
Geet puts him on speaker…
Nikhil: Nothing is ok. Manasvi has just been caught in a hotel room with some boy from her college and the media is here taking full advantage of the situation. I wanted to intervene but I don’t want them to make this into something more than it already is!
The whole family is shocked.
Soumil: Someone put the TV on!
Rauktima: Nikhil come back home at once. You did the right thing by staying out of the media. Anirudh, Soumil, I’ll come with you, let’s go there as soon as we can and end this nonsense.
The TV comes on.
Reporter: The Agnihotri’s have always had a knack for scandal and looks like the latest generation of the family is not going to stand for second best…
Kurukshetra – Episode 442
Rauktima arrives outside the hotel with Anirudh and Soumil. She turns to look at them.
Rauktima: Here’s what we’re going to do. When we walk in there…
Rauktima explains her plan to the brothers and they all get off the car. The three of them walk into the hotel and both Anirudh and Soumil head for the lift. Rauktima walks into the lobby of the hotel and looks around. She then sits down on one of the sofas and begins reading a magazine. Anirudh and Soumil make it to the floor where the Manasvi scandal is happening and they find the room where all the reporters are clamoring about. Anirudh sees a bellboy walking across and he runs to him and gives him some money. He tells the bellboy something and then goes back to where Soumil is hiding. The bellboy makes his way over to where the reporters are…
Bellboy: OH MY GOODNESS LOOK! RAUKTIMA AGNIHOTRI IS ALSO HERE!!! LOOK THERE SHE IS IN THE LOBBY!
All the reporters hear this and look over the edge, just then one of them sees Rauktima. She looks up and sees them looking down at her. She gets up and acts panicked.
Reporter: Let’s go, it looks like she’s caught wind of us! Let’s get her before she can leave!
The reporters start running downstairs and Rauktima tosses her magazine aside and starts running to the exit. The moment all the reporters are gone, Anirudh and Soumil head into the room. There they see Manasvi looking at herself in the mirror while the boy is getting his pants on. Soumil lunges at the boy!
Soumil: You bloody bastard!!!
Manasvi turns around in shock to see her father and uncle there. Anirudh grabs Manasvi by the hand.
Anirudh: Bhaiyya come on! We don’t have time for this! We’ll deal with him later. Come on!
Anirudh gets Soumil off the boy with the greatest of difficulty and the trio heads out. Meanwhile back downstairs, Rauktima is waiting for her car and the reporters are closing in on her. Finally her car comes in and she gets in…
Rauktima: Driver, go to the rear entrance of the hotel.
The driver takes the car to the rear end of the hotel… The reporters come running out and seemed to have lost Rauktima.
Reporter: She can’t have gone far, come on let’s look for her.
They all scatter and at the rear end of the hotel Rauktima waits impatiently. Finally, the doors open and Anirudh walks out with Manasvi and Soumil trailing behind. They all get into the car and drive off and just as they do the reporters come running there. At the same time at Chopra Mansion… Vayu and Ashvini have seen this on TV.
Vayu: What is wrong with that girl?
Ashvini: I’m not surprised, she’s an Agnihotri after all.
Vayu: Don’t say that Bua ji.
Ashvini: I’m sorry Vayu but it seems like dishonoring the family name comes to all those children naturally.
Vayu: And their wives…
Ashvini looks up at Vayu in shock. He just tosses the remote aside and walks away. From behind them Nirmala has observed all of this and looks thrilled. She thinks to herself…
Nirmala: Looks like I was wrong… The climax arrived before the party it seems!
Not long after Soumil is dragging Manasvi into Chandra Mahel followed by Rauktima and Anirudh. Soumil drags Manasvi to the great hall, tosses her inside and raises her hand to slap her. Just then Rauktima walks in and stops him.
Rauktima: No Bhaiyya… Don’t…
Soumil: Don’t stop me today Rauktima. This child has been given everything she has ever wanted from birth and we have done all we can to raise her up the best way we know how and this is how she treats us? By destroying our respect!
Manasvi: You can only destroy the respect of those who had it to begin with, Dad!
Soumil turns to look at her in shock and the rest of the family has a similar face on.
Soumil: What did you just say to me?
Manasvi: Why are you asking me to repeat things when you already heard me the first time? What is this so called respect you are talking about? What respect? Wake up and smell the news Dad, the Agnihotris have no respect!
Katya: MANASVI!
Manasvi: Please Mom, shouting isn’t going to change anything. The fact of the matter is that this isn’t a family, it’s some twisted soap! Half the children in this house don’t belong to their parents and half the wives don’t belong to their husbands!
Rauktima looks at Manasvi with anger in her eyes.
Manasvi: Yes I was with a boy tonight, big deal. Now I know your next question is going to be why in a hotel room? Well the simple truth is that I couldn’t have brought him home, not with all of you here constantly poking your faces into other people’s business.
Rauktima looks at Kartik who is looking back at her. She makes a gesture for him to say something but Kartik shows no emotion. Rauktima gets angrier.
Manasvi: It isn’t my fault that generations of this family have a habit of ending up in the news one way or the other. I didn’t ask to be born famous now did I? Besides, look at it this way, all I’m doing is taking the family name forward. I’ve read that lots of others in this family have gotten caught in hotel rooms as well. So what’s the big deal if I got caught too? Hmmm?
That cuts the final straw holding Rauktima’s patience together. She pulls Manasvi towards her and slaps her hard across the face. Then she speaks to her in a tone so low, it almost resembles that of Kartik’s when he is beyond livid…
Rauktima: Listen to me and listen carefully child. This family has gone through enough without having you prancing around naked in a hotel room for the whole world to see.
Soumil raises his eyes at Rauktima and we see that he is somewhat taken aback by her choice of words, so is Katya.
Rauktima: But if you wanted to be so brazen then we would have sent you off to a whorehouse, like the ones your father used to frequent when your mother was pregnant with you!
Manasvi looks at Rauktima in horror, her entire expression has changed now. The rest of the family is shocked by Rauktima’s tone as well.
Rauktima: That’s what this is about isn’t it? The fact that Soumil isn’t your real father? This change that has taken place in you started from when you found out the truth isn’t it? You’re trying to rebel because you think you have been wronged! But every war that has been waged through the HISTORY of time has been done so after careful consideration with all facts taken into account. So what if Soumil isn’t your biological father? He has been to you what most parents can never be to their children. He has given you more love and affection than most of us have given to our children. Still if you have a problem with him then take it up with me and I will tell you where to get off, are you listening to me?
Rauktima grabs Manasvi’s face and turns it towards her.
Rauktima: Soorya Kapoor is a spineless coward and I’m ashamed to call him my brother! All of us in this room have our mistakes but he was one who was never willing to accept his. If he loved you so much then where was he all these years? He doesn’t even know what you look like and you want to rebel against this father of yours for that one? Just for that thought…
And she slaps Manasvi hard across the other cheek.
Rauktima: There is a great difference between what you think you know and what you should know. Gone are the days when one generation of this family kept secrets from the other just so that it would protect them. Can you see the outcome? All of you?
She addresses the entire room.
Rauktima: If we don’t share the truth of our pasts with our children then all we’re going to get is pain and suffering in return. We choose not to communicate with each other, we have outsiders come in and do our jobs for us and then we blame them for causing discord in our lives… Do I have to throw names in your faces for you to remember the past?
Everyone looks down.
Rauktima: Today I will reveal to everyone in this room what they need to know about the past of this house and today everyone will listen. Today the barrier between generations will be broken and today all questions will be answered! Open your ears and listen carefully to the words of the days gone by! Listen to the history of Chandra Mahel!
Rauktima moves to the centre of the room and begins talking. Everyone listens as she tells them the stories of the past and of Chandra Mahel. We see flashbacks of some of the most important moments in the history of the house…

Flashback Sequence Ends…
Rauktima: So now, all of you know about the history of this house for as long as we can all remember it! This is who we are, this is where we come from… Does anyone have any questions?
Rauktima looks around and everyone looks silent…
Rauktima: Good.
Then she turns to Manasvi.
Rauktima: Now go to your room and lock yourself in there and don’t come out until you’re ready to apolgize to your father and the rest of this family.
Manasvi looks like she’s frightened of Rauktima and runs upstairs.
Rauktima: I’ll have the servants send all your dinners to your room, I doubt everyone’s in the mood to eat after this. Anirudh… we need to figure out a way to deal with the media.
Anirudh: I’m already on it Di.
Rauktima: Good, excuse me everyone.
Rauktima walks off and one by one the whole family disperses until only Kartik is left behind. He thinks to himself…
Kartik: At first I wondered if Rauktima was the right choice to take on the future of this family and all its responsibilities, but now I see that I made the right choice indeed. I would never have told the entire family the truth about how ugly our past was or how each of us played a role in tarnishing this family’s name but she did and through it she’s made this family united in one cause for the first time… She’s made them see that through all the ways we’ve come, at the end of the day only one thing is important, and that’s family… if we don’t have each other, we have no one… Now… I can rest in peace… At last…
Kartik gets up ever so slowly and looks around at Chandra Mahel. He walks through the halls and looks around at every last nook and corner. He then sighs deeply and walks up to his room. He stands by his door and looks outside one more time. Then he closes it.
Kurukshetra – Episode 443
Later that night… Rauktima is sitting alone in her room and thinking about what happened dowstairs…
Rauktima: Dear lord… did I do the right thing by revealing all those dark truths about our past to everyone? What will our children think of us? Will they think any less of us now that they know the things we’ve done? What have I done? But then, why didn’t Kartik Chachu stop me… Maybe I should go and talk to him about what happened…
She gets up and is about to leave when she sees Manasvi standing at her door, her head bent down.
Rauktima: Manasvi, what are you doing here at this house?
Manasvi: Badi Ma… Can I call you Badi Ma?
Rauktima: Of course…
Manasvi: Badi Ma… I’m sorry.
Rauktima walks over to her…
Rauktima: I’m not the one you should be apologizing to…
Manasvi: You’re right… I should be apologizing to everyone, for the way I’ve behaved, for the things I’ve said and done and for the hurt and pain I’ve caused my own flesh and blood…
Rauktima: Look at me.
This time Rauktima is gentle.
Rauktima: I can see in your eyes how truly sorry you are about what happened. Don’t lose heart, we will fix this and we will…
Manasvi: There’s a lot more to fix here than you know Badi Ma.
Rauktima: What do you mean?
Manasvi: Until you told me the truth about the history of this family, I didn’t know some very important things that I should have. Had I known those things then maybe I would have come into your lives in a different way.
Rauktima looks confused.
Rauktima: I have no idea what you’re talking about Manasvi…
Manasvi: That’s just it Badi Ma… I… I don’t know how to say this but…
Rauktima: You can say anything to me… Come now, what is it?
Manasvi: Badi Ma… The truth is, I’m not really Manasvi.
Rauktima looks even more confused now.
Rauktima: What do you mean you’re not Manasvi?
Manasvi: I look like Manasvi and I am a part of this house but I’m not Manasvi…
Rauktima: What are you…
Meenakshi: My name is Meenakshi, I’m Manasvi’s twin sister!!!
Rauktima is shocked out of her wits hearing this…
Meenakshi: I was sent here to destroy this family, my family and the person who sent me here was the same person who raised me all these years to believe that I was abandoned at birth because I was claimed to be unlucky by the family… But now I find out that this family doesn’t even know that I was born!
Rauktima is still shocked.
Rauktima: This is not possible. I was there the day you were born. Katya gave birth to an only child, one daughter… Manasvi.
Meenakshi: No… she gave birth to two daughters – twins – Manasvi and Meenakshi. I was told that I was adopted when the family gave me away to an orphanage but now I see that it is possible I was kidnapped at birth without you even knowing about me by an enemy of this family…
Rauktima: Who?
Meenakshi looks Rauktima straight in the eyes…
Meenakshi: Bhoomika Thakral!
Rauktima’s eyes go wide in shock.
Rauktima: Bhoomika?
Meenakshi: Yes…
Rauktima: Wait… but if what you’re saying is true and you are indeed Meenakshi, then where is Manasvi?
Meenakshi: She’s being held prisoner by Bhoomika.
Rauktima: WHAT?
Meenakshi: Do you remember the day of Manasvi’s kidnapping?
Rauktima is shocked to hear this.
Rauktima: I ordered a fake kidnapping to be carried out on Manasvi as part of my plan to expose Urvashi.
Meenakshi: That may have been so, but that day, Manasvi was really kidnapped. When the van grabbed Manasvi, the exchange was made inside and the girl who was thrown out of the van was not Manasvi but me.
Rauktima feels like her head is spinning.
Rauktima: So all these days, Manasvi has not been at Chandra Mahel?
Meenakshi: No, it’s been me all along.
Rauktima: Dear lord… we have to inform Kartik Chachu immediately!
Rauktima is about to walk out of the room but then she looks at the time and stops. She thinks to herself…
Rauktima: Everyone’s been put through so much throughout this one night. Let them rest, let them all rest. Tomorrow morning, I’ll announce the truth to everyone and then figure out what we’re going to do about Manasvi and at the same time, introduce Meenakshi to her parents so that they may know who she is for the first time…
Then out loud she says…
Rauktima: On second thought go to sleep now. In fact, sleep here in this room with me. We’ll figure out what needs to be done in the morning.
Meenakshi: But Badi Ma… Bhoomika is a very cunning woman. I’ve only now realized how much she is capable of…
Rauktima: Don’t worry… I know how to handle Bhoomika when the time comes and now everyone in the family knows and will understand why she did what she did. I knew something was out of place the day you were born… I should have known that my instincts were right then. But don’t worry, we will fix this, nothing will happen to your sister, we will bring her back home safe and sound and until I tell you to, there will be no further communication with Bhoomika, do you understand?
Meenakshi: Yes Badi Ma.
Rauktima: Good. Now go to sleep.
Meenakshi goes to sleep and Rauktima looks stressed. The night eases by and morning arrives. The family has been informed of what Rauktima has learned the night before. Meenakshi hugs Soumil and Katya for the first time as her parents and there is a smile on everyone’s faces.
Soumil: We have to get Manasvi out of Bhoomika’s claws now!
Rauktima: Easy Bhaiyya. We don’t want to do anything rash. This woman was crafty enough to raise our own child against us for all these years, there’s no saying what she could do to Manasvi if she realizes that her game is up.
Katya: Then what do we do?
Rauktima: I was planning on consulting with Kartik Chachu first but…
Just then there’s a bloodcurdling scream that echoes through Chandra Mahel and everyone looks up. Moments later one of the servants come running down.
Rauktima: Ramu… what has happened? What’s all this shouting?
Ramu: Something unfortunate has happened Madam?
Rauktima: What?
Ramu: It’s Bade Sahab…
Krithika: What’s happened to him?
Ramu: He’s…
Ramu is unable to complete his sentence and the rest of the family exchanges looks. They all run upstairs and Krithika is the first to make it to the room, followed by Rauktima. They both look inside and see Kartik, sleeping peacefully on the bed. The servant who screamed is standing over him in shock.
Krithika: Dad! Dad!
Krithika runs in and sits next to Kartik.
Krithika: Dad… Dad come on wake up.
Rauktima walks up to her and sits next to her.
Rauktima: Chachu… Chachu wake up, it’s time to get up.
Krithika: He’s not waking up, why isn’t he waking up Di?
Rauktima reaches out and places her finger underneath Kartik’s nose, she leaves it there for a while and then the color drains from her face. Rauktima looks petrified and Krithika turns to look at her.
Krithika: Di? What is it? Di please, please don’t say what I think it is. DAD!
Rauktima: Krihtika, listen…
Krithika: No I don’t want to hear it…
Rauktima: Krithika please come on…
Krithika breaks down crying and one by one each of the Agnihotris make their way into the room and watch Krithika crying over Kartik’s dead body while Rauktima holds her. Flash-forward to the funeral of Kartik Agnihotri… Everyone is in mourning… Rauktima is standing far away from the others and she seems to be in deep thought. Just then she turns to look at the door and her face changes immediately. Vayu and Nirmala have just walked in and right behind them, she sees Ashvini. Vayu and Nirmala head inside but Ashvini stands near the door. Rauktima sees this and walks over to her.
Rauktima: You came.
Ashvini: It’s a movie I’ve been waiting to watch for years now, wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Rauktima: What’s the matter Bhabi? In all these years you seemed to have gotten really bad at lying.
Ashvini gives Rauktima a strange look.
Ashvini: And in all these years you still haven’t given up sticking your nose into my feelings. How are you Badi Nanad ji?
Rauktima: As well as can be expected under the circumstances.
Ashvini: Come now, circumstances like these are expected in a house like Chandra Mahel. You’ve hardly stopped mourning the death of your husband and now this happens.
Rauktima: Your ability to sprinkle salt over fresh wounds, however, seems intact.
Ashvini: Always will be.
Rauktima: Why are you here? Especially since the man we’re here to bid farewell to was the same one that bid you from entering Chandra Mahel ever again.
Ashvini: That’s precisely why I’m here. Now that the man’s dead I suppose the rule changes too doesn’t it?
Rauktima: You’re right, there’s a new rule now, my rule and if you know what’s good for you…
Ashvini: I’ve learned, slowly but surely I’ve learned what’s good for me and that’s exactly why I’ve kept my distance from all of you all these years. But I’d like for that to change.
Rauktima looks surprised.
Ashvini: I’ll tell you why I’m really here Rauktima. Kartik Agnihotri may have been the scum of the earth, but he was a man to be respected. He was an enemy worth having and he made life interesting for everyone he knew. When he loved he loved unconditionally and when he hated he did so with a passion. No one side was given more importance than the other; nothing was ever half-baked with him. I respect that, and as hard as it is to believe, I respected him. When he first declared war on my sister, I was the first weapon he used against her and the best part of it was that he did it so well, I didn’t even feel like I was being used, in fact, I felt good about what I had done.
Ashvini walks closer to Rauktima…
Ashvini: But I can see why he chose you as his heir and the next in line to rule the Agnihotri Dynasty. He saw himself you.
Rauktima is taken aback by this.
Ashvini: I see him in you too and I bet you, so does the rest of this family. Just do me a favor and hold on to the good bits.
She’s about to walk inside but then moves back…
Ashvini: And some of the bad bits too…
Ashvini walks inside and Rauktima stares after her as she does. But then she smiles. She looks at Kartik’s photograph and a tear rolls down her cheek.
Rauktima: Look at the state you left me in Chachu. Everyone expects me to step into your shoes and fix everything that is wrong. I don’t know if I can, but I will certainly try. From now on, this family is my responsibility.
Kurukshetra – Episode 444
Meenakshi enters a house by herself. She’s still dressed in white from the funeral. She looks around and goes inside. She’s about to take one step further when suddenly…
Bhoomika: And here I thought you had gone missing.
Meenakshi turns around all of a sudden and is shocked to see Bhoomika there.
Bhoomika: Welcome home Meenakshi. Where have you been? I’ve been trying to call you for the past two days but…
Meenakshi: The circumstances were such that I couldn’t get in touch with you.
Bhoomika: What circumstances? And why are you dressed in white?
Meenakshi: There was a funeral at the house.
Bhoomika: Oh I see… well this doesn’t surprise me I mean there’s always some funeral or the other at Chandra Mahel? Who was it this time?
Meenakshi: Kartik Agnihotri…
Bhoomika is shocked to hear this!
Bhoomika: What? Kartik Agnihotri is dead?
Meenakshi: You knew him?
Bhoomika: No, but I knew of him. He was a ruthless man, just like the rest of the Agnihotris. Tell me everything that happened.
Meenakshi: I’d like to but I don’t have time. There are some important questions I need to ask Manasvi.
Bhoomika: What? Why?
Meenakshi: They’re on to me, especially after that hotel stunt that I pulled.
Bhoomika: I saw that on the news, congratulations by the way.
Meenakshi: Thank you, but you can congratulate me later. You have no idea how important it is that I see Manasvi right away. If I don’t, our whole plan could be in vain. I’ll explain everything in a while, I promise.
Bhoomika: Alright. I’ll have her brought up.
Bhoomika takes out her phone and dials a number.
Bhoomika: Bring the girl upstairs.
She hangs up and then moves over to Meenakshi.
Bhoomika: You’ve done well so far. I hope you know that. But I also want you to know that I’m doing all this for you, so that justice can be served and the Agnihotris can be given what’s coming to them.
Meenakshi: Don’t worry… Justice will be served, just as soon as…
At that moment, Manasvi is brought in. Meenakshi looks at her and her eyes well up with tears. She runs up to her sister and removes the gag in her mouth. Bhoomika finds all of this quite strange. Manasvi looks at Meenakshi in shock.
Manasvi: Who the hell are you?
Meenakshi: I’m your sister.
Manasvi: What? I wasn’t aware I had one.
Rauktima: Neither were we.
Suddenly everyone turns around and sees Rauktima standing there.
Manasvi: Bua ji!
Manasvi unlatches herself from the men who are holding her and runs to Rauktima. Bhoomika is shocked to see Rauktima in her house and turns to Meenakshi.
Bhoomika: What is this woman doing here?
Rauktima: I’m here to take my nieces home Bhoomika ji.
Meenakshi walks up to Bhoomika.
Meenakshi: My whole life you are the only family I’ve known, you are the only one I’ve trusted and now I find out that you have committed the biggest betrayal in my life! You became my family by stealing me away from my own family. You raised me in hate, telling me every day that my family threw me away at birth because I was said to be unlucky when in fact, they had no clue that I was born to begin with! How could you do this to me?
Bhoomika: You ingrate!
She raises her hand to slap Meenakshi but someone holds it and she’s shocked to see Soumil next to her when she turns around.
Soumil: So much of hate is still brewing inside you Chachi… Who would have thought that after so many years we’d have to meet like this?
Just then Katya walks in as well.
Katya: How dare you steal my child and then keep her away from me for all these years! How dare you!!!
Bhoomika: You people have always thought of yourselves as untouchable. That isn’t so true now is it?
Soumil: Just because you failed to realize a certain truth in your life doesn’t mean you destroy other people’s lives to make yourself feel better Chachi.
Bhoomika: Everything that was rightfully my son’s was taken away from him because of you Soumil and it wasn’t enough for your people so you took him away from me too.
Sanjeev: That’s not true Mom.
Bhoomika looks up and is shocked to see Sanjeev standing in front of her after so many years.
Sanjeev: No one took me away from you. You were the one who drove me away.
Bhoomika: No I didn’t. I tried to save you from yourself.
Sanjeev: I was fine the way I was. But you tried to make me into something I wasn’t. You tried to turn me into Soumil Bhaiyya without letting me live my life the way I wanted to. You have no one but yourself to blame!
Rauktima: And now the law will blame you too Bhoomika ji. You will pay the price of your crimes.
Just then the cops walk in.
Rauktima: Inspector, arrest this woman!
Bhoomika: No!
The police walk over to her and handcuff her.
Inspector: Mrs. Bhoomika Thakral, you are under arrest.
They are about to take her away when…
Meenakshi: Wait…
Everyone stops and turns to Meenakshi.
Meenakshi: It’s true that what she did was wrong and while her intentions were bad I cannot turn back on the fact that she is the one who raised me.
Katya: She raised you to believe you were something you’re not and moreover, she raised you to believe your family was something they’re not.
Meenakshi: I know Mom. But if there’s one thing I learned more than anything else from what Badi Ma told us that night, it’s that this family is capable of forgiveness and that’s what I find most precious about it. So I forgive her and I want to drop the charges against her.
Soumil: But Meenakshi…
Rauktima: She’s right Bhaiyya. We should be proud that the next generation of our family thinks this way. Inspector, if it’s Meenakshi’s wishes that the charges against Bhoomika ji be dropped then the rest of the family stands by her decision.
Inspector: As you wish.
He signals for them to let Bhoomika go. They leave. Meanwhile Manasvi looks scared and confused.
Rauktima: Soumil Bhiayya, take the girls and Katya and leave… I’ll be out in a minute.
Soumil does as he’s told. Sanjeev is about to leave as well.
Bhoomika: Sanjeev wait, what are you doing? Where are you going? Don’t leave me.
Sanjeev: Things could have been so different for you Mom. You had a family that loved you very much, people who cared so much for you they would have done anything for you. But what did you do in return? You deceived them, played with their emotions and their happiness and turned their lives upside down. You yourself are to blame for every bad thing that has happened to you because you broke the ties you had with your family with your own hands. Now this is your punishment – live alone for the rest of your life.
Bhoomika: Sanjeev wait…
But he doesn’t listen to her and leaves. He walks out of the house and sees Dushyanth standing there waiting for him.
Sanjeev: What are you doing here?
Dushyanth: I think you and I have unfinished business…
Sanjeev: Do we now?
Dushyanth: We do. And my daughter thinks we should take care of it.
Sanjeev: Does she really?
Dushyanth: As a matter of fact she would like to meet you, when we go out for dinner, that is if you’re available, for dinner.
Sanjeev smiles.
Sanjeev: Tell her yes, I’m available.
Back inside the hosue, there’s only Rauktima and Bhoomika left. Bhoomika is crying at the fact that her plan failed even before it lifted off the ground. Rauktima walks up to her.
Rauktima: How does it feel to be all alone in the world Bhoomika ji?
Bhoomika looks at her in disgust.
Rauktima: You know in the years that have gone by I’ve fought a lot of battles for my family. Some of them have been trivial issues within the walls of my home between a Devrani and a Jethani and others have been unfathomable fiascos between enemies hungry for each other’s blood. But either way, the victory has always been mine. This is possibly the reason why Kartik Chachu chose me to run the Agnihotri Empire after him.
Bhoomika scoffs.
Rauktima: You might wonder why I’m telling you all of this. You may think that it is not important. But let me tell you something that is worth listening to and recording down in that brain of yours. I know people like you. All they want to do is make life miserable for someone else because their own life is in such shambles. Your son was right Bhoomika ji. You have no respect for relationships or the ground values of loyalty and trust. Things like love, honor and respect are mere words you’ve read off a dictionary, they mean nothing to you. But they mean a lot to me and my family.
Bhoomika: Your family…
Rauktima: I will not hear one single word come out of your mouth about my family do you understand? Today I’m warning you, don’t you ever cast your evil eye on the Agnihotris again because this time, the consequences will be severe and there won’t be anyone to save you getting what’s coming to you. If I were you, I’d take my threat very seriously because by not doing so, you’re putting yourself at great danger.
Rauktima gives Bhoomika the once over and then walks out of her house and her life for good. Meanwhile at Chandra Mahel… Krithika is on the phone with Aindri…
Aindri: I’m very sad that I could not attend Kartik’s funeral. I hope you’re all well and that things are in order.
Krtihika: They are. I believe Dad made the right choice by leaving Rauktima Di in charge. She knows exactly what to do and how to do it. I still can’t understand how he knew what was going to happen.
Aindri: Call it a premonition if you must Krithika, or something else, but one thing I know about your father is that he always thinks things through all the way to the end. When he had his brothers killed he knew full well that the day would come when he had to pay for it so he even made arrangements to save himself from the death sentence. A man doesn’t get very much smarter. Imagine, changing his face and then returning to his own house under someone else’s guise but still fully in control. Of all those brothers, Kartik was my favorite… You might wonder how this is so even after what he did to me. The answer fails me. Even I’m not sure why I loved him so much. Maybe it was because deep down inside, I saw the true Agnihotri spirit in him, I saw Vijay in him. My brother, like your father, wasn’t always the nicest person. But he knew how to take care of his own. He sent Protima away from his house but he made sure she and her family were well taken care of. They had the same luxuries that Maya’s family did. So many similarities. But this new change is one that I’ve anticipated a long time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that the Bahus of Chandra Mahel aren’t capable. But just between you and me, they’re Agnihotri’s by marriage, we’re Agnihotris by blood and don’t you ever forget that.
Krithika: Never Dadi Bua.
Finally the day has come for the family to leave Chandra Mahel. Everyone is saying their final goodbyes to the house and Rauktima is in her room, writing in her diary…
Rauktima: From the day I entered this house until now, there has never been a dull moment. Yes, some of those moments have cost us a lot and we’ve suffered some great losses, but it has all been part and parcel of life. Today I leave this house a happy woman, knowing in my heart of hearts that happiness has finally dawned in our lives and I promise to do everything to protect it. Maybe the curse that was placed on us years ago has been lifted but still, today, we say goodbye to this Kurukshetra.
Rauktima closes the doors of Chandra Mahel and locks it. For good.
Kurukshetra Ends
HI guys,
So I know there are loads of incomplete storylines and such things that you want explained – but I don’t feel that Kurukshetra has a future. It’s like one of those dramas that reaches a place where it cannot recover from, and I think I made that happen with the addition of so many characters that I myself find it difficult to keep track of sometimes.
However, I think this is a good place to call it quits.
If you bear with me though, I would like to start on something new and change the style of presenting it to you so that I won’t leave things unfinished and half baked like Kurukshetra.
I’m really sorry about this and I know that there were those who you followed this show with great enthusiasm. But I won’t leave you high and dry…
In a few days from now there will be a MAHA Episode of Kurukshetra that will be posted to finally close off every lose end that the show seemingly has.
So prepare for the Agnihotri Family’s final trial and their final enemy.

Kurukshetra – Episode 435
Dushyanth and Shastra are shocked. Rauktima walks over to them and begins telling them the story of what happened twenty years ago. She takes them through all the details and finally their eyes are opened.
Rauktima: All these years I’ve been living under the guise of Drishti Kaul, making her name shine, creating a base of power but all the while with one simple goal in mind, the destruction of Urvashi Agnihotri. She took my Nakshu away from me, she has destroyed Krithika from within, she has done a lot of wrong and gotten away with absolutely all of it. I could have fought her alone but then I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the greater task of bringing this family closer together. Today each of my brothers understands the importance of the ties that we share as a family and I’m proud of that. I’m glad I’ve been able to restore their faith in those they care about and not rely on this woman’s dictatorship to rule their lives.
Dushyanth walks over to Rauktima and hugs her.
Dushyanth: We thought you were dead.
Rauktima: I was… until today. Today the final punch has been thrown. I’m sorry your past had to come out in the way it did Dushyanth but it was important that you yourself tell Shastra the truth. In the past we’ve had so many issues with our parents simply because they kept certain truths from us that we really should have known about. There have been so many evils that we’ve had to face not knowing why or how they came to hate us so much. But today, this family is aware of its past and they have faced it full on. Now the only thing lying in between Urvashi and her destruction is evidence.
Dushyanth: So how do we gather evidence against her and prove that she is the one who killed Nakshatra?
Rauktima: Krithika… Krithika knows the truth. We have to help her remember the past. We have to help her recover so that she can run the final round of this race.
Rajind: Do you know how we’re going to do that Didi?
Rauktima: I’ve thought of so many things but I’m not sure if any of them will work…
Dushyanth: There might be a way.
Everyone turns to look at Dushyanth.
Dushyanth: A long time ago, Dadi Bua was paralyzed and in a wheelchair. I remember Kartik Chachu managed to cure her.
Rauktima: Do you remember how?
Dushyanth: Yes, he recreated the scene that lead to her paralysis and that helped shock her back into reality.
Rajind: But none of us were around when Krithika received the call from Nakshatra. How would we know to recreate that environment?
Rauktima: We don’t have to.
Rajind: But then how do we…
Rauktima: Like Dushyanth said, we shock her back into reality. But first… we need to get the others together. We’re not going to fight this battle alone. This time we do it as a family.
Dushyanth: Great, so do you have a plan?
Rauktima: Listen up…
Rauktima talks to the others about her plan and they all listen intensely.
Rauktima: The final phase of this plan is now in action.
Later Rauktima goes to see Urvashi.
Rauktima: Urvashi ji…
Urvashi: Drishti ji, come in, come in. What can I do for you?
Rauktima: The time has come.
Urvashi: For what?
Rauktima gets very close to Urvashi.
Rauktima: For… us to go to Amsterdam.
Urvashi: Really?
Rauktima: Yes. All the arrangements have been made and we just need to be there when the final papers are being signed.
Urvashi: That’s great. When do we leave?
Rauktima: Tonight.
Urvashi: Isn’t that a bit too fast?
Rauktima: It is, but you know as well as I do that in the business world, time is money.
Urvashi: You’re right.
Rauktima: You don’t need to worry about a thing, I’ve made all the arrangements.
Urvashi: Well then I guess all that is left to do is to pack.
Rauktima: Right. We leave to the airport in three hours. I’ll see you downstairs.
Urvashi: Alright.
Not long after Urvashi arrives downstairs and she meets Rauktima there.
Urvashi: Drishti ji, I’m ready to go.
Rauktima: Excellent. My car is here. Oh I forgot one more thing.
Urvashi: What is it?
Rauktima: Sailesh and Umesh will be joining us so I think it’s best if you bring someone along with you as well.
Urvashi: Alright. I’ll ask Rajind to join us.
Rauktima: He’s an ambitious man Urvashi ji but I’d much rather you take Aksh with you instead.
Urvashi raises a brow.
Urvashi: You’re not planning on igniting old flames are you?
Rauktima: Don’t be ridiculous. I just feel he will be the better man to serve you there.
Urvashi: You’re right. He knows way more about all my dealings than Rajind does anyway. I’ll inform him and he will meet us at the airport.
Rauktima: Lovely. Shall we go then?
Urvashi: Alright.
They start walking out of the house and Rauktima thinks to herself.
Rauktima: Poor fool. She doesn’t even know what lies in store for her when she comes back. Try to look around at least one last time Urvashi because in our absence, Chandra Mahel is going to learn how to spit you out when you return.
She turns around and sees Rajind at the top of the stairs. She nods at him and Rajind nods at her. She then turns back around and walks out. Rajind thinks to himself.
Rajind: Once Aksh leaves the house, then we can begin.
Rauktima and Urvashi finally leave. Meanwhile… Aksh gets the call from Urvashi…
Aksh: Hello?
Urvashi: I need you to get your things and meet me at the airport. We’re going to Amsterdam.
Aksh: So soon?
Urvashi: The deal is about to be finalized Aksh, the flight takes off in three hours. I need you there ASAP.
Aksh: I’ll be there.
Aksh hangs up and looks concerned but he goes on to pack. Before he leaves he calls Geet.
Geet: What do you mean you’re going to Amsterdam?
Aksh: Choti Ma wants me to come with her to finalize the deal with Chakra International.
Geet: When will you be back?
Aksh: In three days or so.
Geet: Ok.
Aksh: Take care of things here while I’m gone.
Geet: Don’t worry Dad, everything will be under control.
Aksh: Ok then, bye.
Geet: Bye.
They hang up. Aksh leaves. Then… Rajind, Dushyanth and Shastra all walk into the great hall.
Rajind: We have only three days to get everything done.
Dushyanth: Do you think it’s possible?
Rajind: Whether it’s possible or not we have no choice.
Shastra: I will talk to Geet Bhaiyya and explain everything to him.
Dushyanth: I’m going to call Anirudh Bhaiyya.
Rajind: I’ll speak with Nachiket.
Dushyanth: And soon after we can talk to Soumil Bhaiyya.
Rajind: Let’s do this.
The three of them head off in various directions, pick up their phones and start making calls. They go through a series of conversations and talk to their family and convince them to come back to Chandra Mahel. Hours later they’re all done.
Rajind: What’s the status?
Dushyanth: Soumil Bhaiyya, Katya Bhabi and Manasvi are coming home tonight, Anirudh Bhaiyya, Jaya Bhabi and Nikhil are returning early tomorrow morning from New Zealand.
Rajind: Nachiket, Poornima and Shubh are also coming back tonight.
Shastra: Geet Bhaiyya is on his way home right now.
Rajind: Well then I guess our plan is in motion.
Dushyanth: Do you think Krithika will be ready for all this?
Rajind: I don’t want to put too much pressure on her but I have a good feeling about all of this. I know she will come around.
Dushyanth: Then it’s time to start.
Later that evening, Krithika is lying down in her bed when the phone next to her starts to ring. Krithika doesn’t move. The phone continues to ring. There is still no movement from Krithika. Finally the answering machine picks it up…
Voice: Krithika Di!!! Krithika Di help me! It’s me Nakshatra! Help me! She’s going to kill me!
Krithika turns to look at the phone. She is shocked but she doesn’t know what to do.
Krithika: Nakshatra?
Voice: Didi! Help me please! Urvashi is going to kill me!
Krithika: Nakshatra! Nakshatra!
Krithika reaches for the phone and just then the line goes dead.
Krithika: NOOOOOOOOO!
At that moment Rajind comes running into the room.
Rajind: Krithika…
Krithika: No! Nakshatra! No!
Rajind: Shhh… It’s alright, it’s ok… nothing is going to happen. It’s ok.
He hugs her tight and Krithika finds comfort. From outside the room Dushyanth looks in and he has a phone in his hand. Just then… Shastra comes running towards him.
Shastra: Dad… They’ve started to arrive.
Duhsyanth: Ok, go downstairs, I’ll be there in a moment.
Shastra: Ok.
Shastra heads downstairs. She stands at the foot of the staircase and watches as first Geet then Soumil, Katya, Manasvi followed by Nachiket, Poornima and Shubh all walk in.
Shastra: Welcome back everyone.
Soumil: I’d like to say it’s nice to be back but I don’t quite know what we’re doing here.
Just then Dushyanth walks in.
Dushyanth: I’ll tell you what you’re doing here Bhaiyya… You’re here to take back what rightfully belongs to this family.
Nachiket: What does that mean?
At that point Rajind walks in.
Rajind: That means that we’re going to fight against our common enemy and take back everything she stole from us.
Soumil: If you’re referring to Urvashi then there’s really no point. She’s gotten stronger ever since Drishti came into her life.
Dushyanth: That’s what she has been made to believe all this time.
Poornima: What do you mean?
Rajind: Drishti Kaul died a long time ago and she never came back to life.
Katya: But that’s impossible… we’ve seen her.
Dushyanth: No… we thought we’ve been seeing her but the truth is that that woman is not Drishti Kaul at all.
Geet: Then…. Then who…
Dushyanth: I know you want to say it out loud Geet and you should…
Geet: It can’t be…
Rajind: It is.
Geet: But then…
Dushyanth: Why has she been behaving the way she has? Because she had to make Urvashi believe that she was on her side. Because she had to make us believe that she was Drishti so that our children could be told the truth of all our pasts so that we could all make peace with it.
Soumil: You’re not making any sense. If that woman is not Drishti then that can mean only one thing.
Dushyanth: And it does mean only one thing Bhaiyya… She is not Drishti, she is Rauktima Di.
Everyone is stunned to hear this.
Kurukshetra – Episode 436
The family stands around as Dushyanth and Rajind explain everything to them. Everyone is shocked at the turn of events and no one knows how to react.
Soumil: So it was Urvashi who killed Nakshatra?
Rajind: Yes and she made everyone think Krithika was insane.
Dushyanth: And she imprisoned Kartik Chachu for her crimes.
Rajind: And she tried to kill Rauktima Di.
Dushyanth: And with all that, we’ve been letting her rule our lives all these years. But now the time has come for all this to stop.
Nachiket: How are we going to do this?
Dushyanth: Our first goal is to cure Krithika. We’ve already started doing a few things to help jog her memory. But tomorrow once Anirudh Bhaiyya and the rest get here, that’s when we will go all in.
Soumil: What do you mean?
Rajind: We are going to recreate the day Nakshatra was killed.
Poornima: And you’re hoping that that would bring Krithika to her senses.
Rajind: It’s a long shot, but we have to try.
Soumil: And we’re with you.
Nachiket: We all are.
Dushyanth: Now that’s more like it, let’s nail this woman! But first, we’re going to turn Chandra Mahel into what it used to be, our home.
Everyone smiles and all begin hugging each other as a sign of welcome. The following morning Anirudh, Jaya and Nikhil return. The others welcome them and tell them everything.
Anirudh: So where do we start?
Rajind: With Krithika. And we don’t have a lot of time. They return in two days.
Later that day, everyone is helping to transform Chandra Mahel back to the home they always knew it was. Katya is replacing a photo frame of Maya and Vijay when she sees Manasvi carrying some books towards the outer court.
Katya: Manasvi…
Manasvi: Yes Mom?
Katya: Where are you taking all those books?
Manasvi: To the library.
Katya: But the library is upstairs.
Manasvi looks confused and then smiles…
Manasvi: I had some things that needed to be taken to the outer court. I think I left them in the library. I’ll go get them.
Manasvi is about to leave when…
Katya: Manasvi… wait.
She stops and Katya walks over to her.
Katya: Manasvi, what’s wrong?
Manasvi: Nothing Mom. Nothing at all.
Katya: You’re lying to me. Tell me what’s wrong?
Manasvi: I… I’m still thinking about Dad and…
Katya: Manasvi… I know this was a lot for you to take in but sweetheart, I thought we dealt with this..
Manasvi: We did.
Katya: Then why are you still thinking about it so much?
Manasvi: Don’t worry Mom, I’ll be alright. When I made my decision to stay I did so with all my heart. Nothing is going to change between us.
Katya: Thank you…
Katya smiles and walks away but Manasvi’s smile vanishes and she goes back into deep thought but she soon shakes it away and walks off as well. Meanwhile… Dushyanth is arranging some stuff in Vijay’s old study when Shastra walks in.
Shastra: Dad?
Dushyanth: Hmmm.
Shastra: Do you have a minute?
Dushyanth: Sure, what is it?
Shastra walks in and stands in front of Dushyanth.
Shastra: Dad… why have you lived all these years alone?
Dushyanth: I haven’t been alone Shastra, I’ve had you and my whole family and Simran Aunty…
Shastra: You know what I’m talking about.
Dushyanth: Shastra…
Shastra: Tell me honestly… did you stay away from Sanjeev Thakral because of me?
Dushyanth looks away.
Shastra: Come on Dad, we promised we would never keep anything from each other again.
Dushyanth: Ok… Look, yes I did keep track of Sanjeev for some time but then I decided to move on with my life and focus on my career and you… But that doesn’t mean that I’m without him today because of you Shastra. I’ve told you many times, you’re the best thing I’ve done in this insane life of mine and no one can replace your presence in my life.
He takes her hand and sits down with her next to him.
Dushyanth: Love hasn’t always been nice to me. In the beginning I wasn’t really interested in it just like I wasn’t interested in the family business. But then… then I met Rishikesh.
Shastra: Who’s that?
Dushyanth: A big mistake.
Shastra: Why?
Dushyanth: Shastra, it’s a long story… but the short end of it is that he deceived me and circumstances were such that after his death, your mother and I married each other for one common goal, the destruction of this house. We decided that if we had a child, then that child would be the oldest in the next generation of Agnihotris and that’s how you were born. But at the time we didn’t know that Poornima Bhabi was already pregnant with Shubh. Anyway, after your mother passed away and after I was better in New Zealand and I saw you for the first time, everything changed. My intentions, my goals, my life… it all changed. You became the centre of my universe and you still are. The bridge between me and Sanjeev has long since been burnt and it’s not one I fancy walking down again. I have a young daughter now, I need to think about your marriage, when you’re ready for it of course and at that point I won’t have your happiness taken from you because of my past. So this is better…
Shastra shakes her head.
Shastra: Dad, you still don’t understand your daughter do you? This is what I’m trying to tell you. If I do get married one day, it’s going to be to someone who is open minded enough to understand life in the way you and I do and until I find someone like that, I won’t get married.
Dushyanth: Shastra…
Shastra: Dad, if you could have done all this for me, then now it’s my turn to do something for you.
Shastra smiles and leaves the room without saying another word and Dushyanth smiles to himself. Meanwhile in Amsterdam, everyone has gathered for the signing of the deal. Rauktima is standing in a corner going through her messages when Aksh walks over to her.
Aksh: How long do you think you can play this game for?
Rauktima looks up and is a bit alarmed.
Aksh: How long do you think you can carry on fooling everybody?
Rauktima: What the hell are you talking about now?
Aksh: I’m talking about the games you’ve been playing with my family. Don’t think I don’t know that you were behind everything.
Rauktima breathes a sigh of relief and then walks up to Aksh.
Rauktima: Don’t pretend to know me or anything about me just because we were married once a long time ago.
Aksh: I can see right through you Drishti, I know what you’re all about.
Rauktima: Do you now. Well that’s too bad for me isn’t it?
Aksh: Yes it is because when we go back to India, I’m going to expose you.
Rauktima: Do what you must Aksh, I just don’t have time to waste on you at the moment.
Rauktima tries to walk away but Aksh holds her hand.
Aksh: How could you have changed so much?
Rauktima: What if I were to ask you the same question?
Aksh: What is that supposed to mean?
Rauktima: What’s the matter Aksh? It’s alright for you to suck up to Urvashi ji and when I do it you find something wrong in it?
Aksh lets go of her hand.
Aksh: I haven’t been sucking up to her at all!
Rauktima: Really? Then why do you seem to trotting around her like a little lost pony every time I see you?
Aksh: You have no idea what I have had to live through in the past twenty years. You have no idea of all the pain I’ve had to endure silently.
Rauktima: Pain? You seem to be living a very cushy life! What pain are you talking about?
Aksh: You think I’m Urvashi’s pet because I want to be? I’m her slave because that’s the only way I can keep Geet safe!
Rauktima is taken aback by this.
Rauktima: What do you mean?
Aksh: What is the point of telling you anything, it will change nothing.
Rauktima: If it concerns my son then I have a right to know.
Aksh: I didn’t know your son concerned you anymore.
Rauktima: Aksh!
Aksh: Drishit!
Rauktima: All I know is that you have been doing Urvahsi’s bidding all your life and now you seem to have learned how to benefit from it and the fact that I am here changing her mindset about everyone and everything is making you just a tad bit jealous!
Aksh: Jealous? Do you think I want to continue living in this woman’s service? I would have left Chandra Mahel years ago but I had nowhere else to go! I couldn’t go back home because I closed those doors many years ago because of you! I had to think about Geet’s future and his safety!
Rauktima: You keep talking about protecting Geet but I don’t see what you have to protect him from!
Aksh: Not what but who!
Rauktima: Who?
Aksh: Urvashi Agnihotri!
Rauktima is confused now.
Aksh: For many years I’ve had to suffer with knowing things about that woman that no one else knows. I’ve had to keep it all inside me and watch my family suffer because of it but I did what I did for my son.
Suddenly realization hits Rauktima. She thinks to herself…
Rauktima: So that’s why Aksh has kept silent for all these years. Urvashi threatened to do something to Geet! How low can that woman sink? Well, it doesn’t matter any longer because after today I’ll show her that as low as she can go, I can go lower!
Then she looks back up at Aksh and says aloud…
Rauktima: I’ve had it with you and your twisted stories of self-pity. I have work to attend to.
Rauktima walks off and Aksh looks miserable. Later… everyone gathers for the signing of the deal.
Rauktima: Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to announce the inaguration of the Amsterdam project here in the presence of all those who are to be a part of it in the future. Today we will sign the document that will bind us as business associates who will benefit from the success of this venture… As CEO of Chakra International, I will be the first to sign this document… or at least, I was going to be the first to sign this document. But now I feel as though I owe that honor to my friend and confidant, the head of the Agnihotri Empire – Mrs. Urvashi Agnihotri.
Rauktima applauds Urvashi and everyone else follows suit and Urvashi can’t believe all the attention she is getting. She steps forward and the lawyer brings her the papers. She smiles at Rauktima and the latter smiles back at her. Urvashi opens the file and Rauktima has flashes of Urvashi coming into Chandra Mahel… Urvashi and Rauktima talking on the day of Urvashi’s wedding to Kartik… Urvashi starting a battle between the Bahus and the Betis of the house….
Urvashi signs the first page and Rauktima smiles with delight. She looks over at Aksh who seems very upset. She turns her attention back to Urvashi who signs the second page. She then looks up at Umesh and Sailesh who seem to be enjoying this as much as she is. Umesh gives her the thumbs up and Sailesh winks at her. She looks back at Urvashi who signs the third and final page and she has a flash of Urvashi tripping her over the rooftop. She then thinks to herself…
Rauktima: Well done Urvashi… well done.
Kurukshetra – Episode 437
The party in Amsterdam is going on in full swing and everyone seems to be having a brilliant time. Urvashi is half drunk and flirting with the men who have surrounded her in conversation. Rauktima watches this from a distance and both Umesh and Sailesh walk over to her and stand on either side of her.
Umesh: Bhabi, you’ve made a great accomplishment today.
Rauktima: I couldn’t have done it without your help.
Sailesh: I just got a call from Dad. He and Mom have just boarded a plane to Africa. No one will be able to trace them there.
Rauktima: Good. Now we can focus on the very last part of this plan. But it all depends on whether or not Krithika comes back to her senses.
Umesh: Are the others taking care of that?
Rauktima: That’s what they said but I hope they’ll be able to pull it off.
Sailesh: Don’t worry Bhabi, everything will work out just fine. Today Urvashi doesn’t even know how much she has lost and she is celebrating with no knowledge of the fact that this party was thrown in honor of her destruction.
Rauktima: Let her celebrate while she can because when the time comes to go back home… she is in for a very rude shock. Come on Krithika… don’t let your Didi down.
The next day at Chandra Mahel…
Soumil: Is everything in place?
Poornima: Yes Bhaiyya…
Soumil: Good. Nachiket… go outside and make the phone call. Anirudh, Jaya, go upstairs and get ready. Katya, let’s go inside, and kids, no one is to come out of their rooms, do you understand? Now move.
Everyone goes to their assigned positions. Rajind takes one last look at Krithika and walks out of the room. Just then, the phone starts to ring. Krithika opens her eyes and sits up in bed. The phone continues to ring and Krithika looks around and finally sees a mobile phone ringing. She has a minor flashback of the phone because it looks just like the one she used to have. She continues to look at it and it continues to ring. Then it stops ringing. She tries to lie down again but the phone starts to ring again… She gets worried…
In the meantime outside Chandra Mahel…
Nachiket: Come on Didi… pick up the phone. I know you can do it, just pick up the phone.
And back inside… finally, Krithika picks up the mobile and answers it.
Krithika: Hello?
And outside… Nachiket is elated but he quickly brings back his focus to the task.
Nachiket: Hello! Hello! Krithika Di! It’s me Nakshatra!
Krihtika: Nakshatra… where are you?
Nachiket: Didi… I need your help.
Krithika: Help? Why what’s wrong?
Nachiket: Didi… she’s going to kill me…. Urvashi is going to kill me. She has sent thugs after me and I don’t know if I’m going to make it.
Krithika: No… Where are you?
Nachiket: I don’t have a lot of time… You have to know some things about Urvashi…
Krithika: I don’t need to know anything I just need to know where you are. I can’t let this happen again, I won’t let this happen again… Not again!
Nachiket: Didi please….
Krithika: No, you need to hang on for a bit, I’m going to call Dad, he’ll know what to do.
Krithika jumps out of bed and runs out of her room.
Krithika: Dad! Dad! Dad!
Everyone in the mansion starts to hear her one by one. A small smile appears on everyone’s faces.
Krithika: Dad!
Krithika runs up the stairs and to Kartik’s room, she tries to open the door but finds that it is locked.
Krithika: No! No! No! Dad! Open this door! Dad Nakshatra is in trouble! Dad!
Suddenly there are flashes before her eyes…
Krithika: BADI MA!!!!!!!!!!
Urvashi: You’re not strong enough to take me on my dear, I suggest you don’t even try.
Krithika starts to get a little dizzy and she moves back and just like before, a vase falls off the table, breaking it. Downstairs, Jaya and Anirudh use that as their cue to run up. They go running up the stairs and as they run in, they see Krithika.
Anirudh: Krithika, are you alright?
She looks up at them and has a flash of all this happening before.
Jaya: Krithika?
Krithika: Dad! Where is Dad?
Anirudh: Krithika what has happened?
Krithika: She’s going to kill him, she’s going to kill him if we don’t do something about it.
Jaya: Who’s going to kill whom?
Krithika: Choti Ma! Choti Ma is going to kill Nakshatra!
At that moment something triggers off inside Krithika’s head and all her blocked up memories and pent up emotions come flooding out.
Krithika: Rauktima Di! Nakshatra! My baby! My baby! My BABY! NOOOO!
Krithika holds her head in pain as she has more flashbacks…
Krithika: MAAAAAAAAAA!
Urvashi: I will have complete control of that house and all its people. They will belong to me and all of them will be my slaves! Enjoy your time running mad…
Krithika feels extreme pain in her head and one by one the others come running up as well. Rajind sees Krithika in pain.
Rajind: Krithika!
At that moment Krithika starts to fall and Rajind runs over to her and catches her.
Rajind: Krithika! Krithika! Someone call a doctor!
Meanwhile… the younger generation has been asked to stay locked inside the ballroom in the North Wing of Chandra Mahel.
Shubh: I wonder what’s taking so long. I hope Krithika Bua will be alright.
Geet: I still can’t believe that Mom was alive and well and right in front of me and I didn’t even recognize her. And all those mean things I said to her.
Shubh: Come on Bhaiyya, you didn’t know it was her.
Geet: Still…
Shastra: It’s so good to have everyone back. I was so lonely.
Shubh: Anything interesting happen while we were away?
Shastra: You mean apart from all of this?
Shubh: Yea.
Shastra goes silent.
Shubh: Di… are you alright?
Shastra: Hmm… Yes I’m fine.
Manasvi: What’s wrong? Is everything alright?
Shastra: Yes, yes everything is fine. Nikhil, how are things with you?
Nikhil: A lot better actually.
Shastra: Good to hear.
Geet: Shastra are you sure you’re ok.
Shastra: I’m a little tired but apart from that, everything is ok.
Geet: If you say so.
Shastra thinks to herself…
Shastra: Why can’t I bring myself to tell them about Dad and his past? It’s only fair that they know. I mean everything else is out in the open so why not this? But what if they start treating him differently? No they won’t. Will they? What do I do?
In Amsterdam… there is a knock on Rauktima’s room door.
Rauktima: Come in.
The door opens and both Umesh and Sailesh walk in.
Rauktima: What’s going on?
Umesh: We got it.
Rauktima: You did?
Sailesh: Yep. Here it is.
They hand a file over to her and Rauktima opens it. She studies it carefully.
Rauktima: This concludes half of the plan. Let’s hope everyone at home is ready with the other half of the plan.
Sailesh: Have you not checked with them?
Rauktima: I tried but I haven’t been able to get through to any of them.
Umesh: Do you think everything is ok?
Rauktima: I’m afraid to find out. But I’m hoping and I’m praying. In the meantime, I want the two of you to leave immediately. These papers have to be submitted to court so that action can be taken as soon as I get back.
Umesh: Ok Bhabi. See you on the other side.
The two of them leave and Rauktima stands up.
Rauktima: The day of revelation is almost here Urvashi. Where will you hide now?
The next day… Urvashi and Rauktima meet at the lobby of the hotel they’re staying at.
Rauktima: Are you ready to head back?
Urvashi: Oh yes I am.
Rauktima: Good. So am I.
Urvashi: Where are your Devars?
Rauktima: They had to head off early. But we’ll meet them when we get back.
Urvashi: Aksh should be with us in a moment.
Rauktima: Ok.
Seconds later Aksh arrives.
Aksh: I’m ready to go.
Rauktima: It’s about time.
Urvashi: Let’s leave then.
The three of them walk out and head to the airport. A long flight later… they arrive in India. Not long after… they find themselves at Chandra Mahel.
Urvashi: I’m so tired, I can sleep and sleep and sleep.
Rauktima: You said it. I hope you don’t mind, I’ll be staying here tonight before I leave again tomorrow.
Urvashi: Not a problem at all.
Urvashi looks at the mansion as she walks in.
Urvashi: Why does it look so dark here?
Aksh: I have no idea.
Urvashi: I hope that Rajind hasn’t messed anything up in our absence.
Aksh: I’m sure everything is under control.
Urvashi walks up to the door and opens it. Everything inside is dark.
Urvashi: Rajind! Rajind! Where is this man?
Suddenly there is an eerie laugh that echoes through the mansion.
Urvashi: What the hell was that?
Rauktima: It sounded like it was coming from in there.
They all rush into the great hall and see Krithika sitting next to Rajind who is covered in a pool of blood. He has a knife stuck in him and Krithika has blood on her hands and she is laughing her head off.
Urvashi: Oh my goodness!
Aksh: RAJIND!
Aksh tries to run towards them but Rauktima holds him back.
Rauktima: Are you insane? She’s crazy, there’s no saying what she’ll do!
Urvashi: We have to call the police.
Krithika looks up at them in a rage.
Krithika: Police! Who’s going to call the police?
Rauktima: I’m going to call the police.
Krithika: Are you now?
Suddenly, Krithika reaches for a gun from underneath Rajind’s dead body and aims it at Rauktima! Everyone screams.
Urvashi: Oh my goodness she has a gun!
Rauktima: Shit!
Aksh: Krihtika… put down the gun.
Krithika: Don’t tell me what to do!
Urvashi: Krithika please calm down.
Krithika: I said DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
She shoots aimlessly and hit a crystal bowl that breaks into bits and pieces! Everyone screams again.
Urvashi: Alright Krithika… we’re just going to leave the same way we came in here.
Krithika: NO!
Urvashi: No?
Krithika: No! I want you to wait here till he comes.
Urvashi: Till who comes?
Krithika: Nakshatra!
Urvashi gets the shock of her life.
Urvashi: What?
Krithika: Nakshatra called me. He said he was on his way home. I need to see him and you’re not leaving till he gets here.
Aksh: Krithika… Nakshatra is dead.
Urvashi: Aksh shut up!
Krithika: He is not dead!
Rauktima: Who the hell is Nakshatra?
Urvashi: He was my son.
Rauktima: Was?
Urvashi: He… um…
Krithika: He’s on his way here right now. He called me. I know.
Urvashi: Krithika, you have to listen to me ok.
Krithika: I don’t have to listen to anything.
Rauktima: This is crazy. I’m just going to take that gun away from her.
Urvashi: Drishti ji no!
Rauktima walks over to Krithika but just then Krithika aims the gun at her and fires a shot that hits Rauktima in the stomach.
Urvashi: NO!
Aksh: DRISHTI!
Rauktima takes a few steps back and then collapses.
Krithika: I said, don’t move!
Urvashi: Oh my goodness… what are we going to do?
Krithika: No one is going anywhere till Nakshatra gets here do you HEAR ME!
Urvashi: Nakshatra is not coming back Krithika! He is dead!
Krithika: He is not!
Urvashi: Yes he is!
Krithika: How can you be so damn sure? How? How? How?
Urvashi: Because I saw him die with my own eyes!
Krithika: That’s not true!
Urvashi: Yes it is!
Krithika: No it’s not!
Urvashi: Yes it is!
Krithika points the gun at Aksh…
Aksh: What are you doing?
Krithika: Tell her it’s not true.
Aksh: I…
Krithika: Tell her…
Aksh: I can’t do that Krithika…
Krithika: Why not?
Aksh: Because it is true!
Krithika: How do you know?
Aksh: Because I’ve known all along.
Krithika: What have you known?
Aksh: That Nakshatra is dead and that it was Choti Ma who had him killed!
Urvashi: Good grief Krithika! Please regain your senses and try to remember the truth! Nakshatra called you and told you everything! He told you about how I tripped Rauktima over the rooftop and he told you about how I wanted to have her killed in the hospital. He told you about how he found everything and how I sent goons after him. I didn’t mean for it to happen Krithika but he died in the car chase! You knew everything! Why can’t you remember this? Try to remember and put down that gun for goodness sake please!
Krithika slowly puts down the gun. Then she starts laughing.
Urvashi: Krithka… are you alright?
Krithika looks her straight in the eye.
Krithika: Oh I’m fine… I’m fine. In fact I’ve never been better. And for the record, I remember everything, I just wanted to see if you could remember everything, that’s all.
Urvashi: What?
All the other lights in Chandra Mahel come on and one by one the family members start pouring out into the great hall. Urvashi looks around and she is shocked.
Krithika: Your reign of terror ends tonight Urvashi. This is where we all draw the line. You have confessed to your crime and now my family can live in peace.
Urvashi: What the hell are you talking about?
Rauktima: She’s talking about how you’ve just been exposed!
Urvashi and Aksh are shocked as Rauktima slowly picks herself up from the floor. Seconds later, Rajind does the same.
Rajind: You should see the look on your face right now Choti Ma.
Rauktima: It’s to die for.
Urvashi: Drishti ji…
Rauktima: No… no, no, no… that’s your fatal mistake. The fact that you thought I was Drishti Kaul.
Urvashi stares at the set of eyes in front of her, then realization hits her.
Urvashi: Rauktima!
Rauktima: In the flesh.
Aksh is shocked as well.
Aksh: But how is this possible?
Rauktima: It’s a long story but here’s the abridged version. This sinner has ruled in Chandra Mahel for long enough. This is where we part ways Urvashi.
She walks over to Urvashi and slaps her hard across the face.
Rauktima: That’s for what you did to Nakshatra.
She slaps her again.
Rauktima: That’s for what you did to Krithika.
She slaps her again.
Rauktima: That’s for what you did to Kartik Chachu.
And again…
Rauktima: That’s for threatening my husband with my son’s life.
And again…
Rauktima: That’s for destroying the unity in my home!
And again…
Rauktima: That’s for the twenty years I had to spend away from my family!
And again…
Rauktima: AND THAT’S FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME!!!
Just then the police walk in.
Rauktima: Inspector, this woman has confessed to all her crimes today in front of this entire family. Arrest her!
Urvashi is fuming.
Urvashi: You will not win that easily Rauktima.
Rauktima: Actually, yes I will. Do you remember those papers you signed in Amsterdam? They were papers that gave the Agnihotris what is rightfully theirs, the Agnihotri Empire is no longer yours Urvashi.
Urvashi is beyond angry. The police officer walks over to her. She looks at him from the corner of her eye then back at Rauktima.
Urvashi: Well played.
Rauktima: Thank you.
Urvashi: But I can’t help but give you a parting gift, something to remember me by, always.
Rauktima is confused. In a flash, Urvashi turns to the inspector and grabs the gun from his waist… she turns in quick motion and fires a shot directly at Aksh’s heart!!!
Aksh: ARGHHH!
Rauktima: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geet: DAD!
In seconds everyone is on Urvashi and the gun is taken away from her. The family runs to Aksh.
Rauktima: Someone call an ambulance! Please!
Anirudh: I’m on it Didi!
Rauktima looks at Urvashi with rage in her eyes.
Urvashi: The sentence for one murder and two, is the same isn’t it?
Rauktima: Please take this woman away from here NOW!
Inspector: Let’s go!
The police take Urvashi away…
Rauktima: Aksh… you’re going to be alright… everything is going to be fine. Ok…
Aksh: Rauktima… there isn’t a lot of time. I’m not going to make it.
Rauktima: Yes you are. I didn’t fight all these years to lose you at the end of it all.
Aksh: This is my punishment.
Rauktima: Don’t say that!
Aksh: It’s true… I should have exposed Urvashi a long time ago, but I didn’t… And now this is my punishment. Promise me you’ll take good care of everyone.
Rauktima: Aksh don’t do this…
Aksh: Promise me.
Rauktima: Aksh…
Aksh: Please…
Rauktima: Ok I promise…
Aksh: I love you…
Rauktima: And I love you… I always have and I always will.
Aksh: My darling…
And suddenly… Aksh stops breathing.
Rauktima: Aksh… Aksh? No… AKSH!!!

Double Dhamaka – Episodes 433 & 434
Kurukshetra – Episode 433
Drishti: Tell me what?
Dushyanth looks away and Urvashi looks down. Drishti turns to Sanjeev.
Drishti: Tell me what Sanjeev?
Sanjeev: Dushyanth and I… a long time ago, we used to be lovers.
Drishti’s eyes go wide and she looks at Dushyanth…
Drishti: I’d heard about Dushyanth ji’s past and his relationships with men but I hardly expected you to be one of them.
Sanjeev: I was and when you asked me to come to Chandra Mahel I didn’t say anything because I thought Dushyanth was still in New Zealand.
Drishti: Well clearly he’s not.
Sanjeev: And that’s why I must take your leave now.
Drishti: What? Why?
Sanjeev: I’m sorry Drishti but this is a bit uncomfortable for me right now. I’m sorry I’ll call you but I need to go now.
Sanjeev turns on his heel and leaves. Dushyanth walks out of the great hall as well and Drishti turns to Urvashi.
Drishti: We will talk about this in the morning. Right now I need to go to my room or else, there will be nothing left to talk about at all.
Drishti walks off and Urvashi begins to blow steam.
Urvashi: Everything was going so well!
Meanwhile… Aksh is watching all of this from upstairs. He thinks to himself…
Aksh: The timing of everything that has taken place in this house from the day Drishti came here is too odd to be coincidental. First Ankita Chachi and Dadi Bua come here, then Manisha Chachi arrives after that out of all the subsidies Agnihotri Incorporated has, someone wants to buy Sangeeta Chachi’s company and now Sanjeev is here. Each of these incidents has lead to one of the brothers leaving this house. Drishti is the one who brought the business deal for Singhania and she is the one who brought Sanjeev here, if I were to guess, I would say that somehow she was also behind the prior visits. But I can’t act just yet. Now that I suspect this I have to wait for the right time. If my suspicion is correct, then this incident will result in Dushyanth and Shastra leaving Chandra Mahel. If that happens then I’ll know that I’m right. I’m watching you Drishti, I’m watching you very closely.
And from the other end of the room… Rajind is thinking to himself…
Rajind: I’m watching you very closely Aksh. I want to know the reason behind your lies. I want to know why my wife had to spend so many years locked up in a mental facility when she was telling the truth all along. And I want to know how you’ve been living with yourself all these years knowing full well that Krithika was telling the truth. I want to know your reasons behind hiding the truth from everyone. I want to know why you’ve let this family burn in hell with Urvashi because of your silence. I will find my answers and to do so, I’ll be watching you.
The next morning, Drishti walks into the great hall to find Urvashi and Dushyanth waiting for her.
Urvashi: Drishti ji, good morning. I was wondering when you were going to wake up.
Drishti: Forget me waking up Urvashi ji, the time has come for you to wake up.
Urvashi: What do you mean?
Drishti: After what happened in this house last night I believe it is impossible for me to do business with you.
Urvashi and Dushyanth are shocked.
Urvashi: Whatever do you mean Drishti ji?
Drishti walks over to them.
Drishti: Do you want me to write it down on a piece of paper for you? Were you not here when Sanjeev Thakral announced that he and Dushyanth ji were lovers?
Urvashi: But you said you knew about Dushyanth and his past…
Drishti: Yes but I did not know of his past with Sanjeev Thakral.
Dushyanth: How does that make a differene?
Drishti: It makes a very big difference.
Urvashi: How so?
Drishti: Urvashi ji, Chakra International has remained scandal free from its inception. Sanjeev Thakral and Dushyanth Agnihotri are famous names. When they start working together, sooner or later someone from back then is going to find the need to bring attention to it. Then it’s my company’s name on the line. As much as I’m supportive of all kinds of lifestyles, I cannot allow my company to be caught in the middle of a scandal, I won’t allow it.
Dushyanth: So what do you propose we do?
Drishti: I propose you leave Agnihotri Incorporated.
Dushyanth is shocked to hear this.
Urvashi: What do you mean leave?
Drishti: Until this project is over Dushyanth cannot be seen or heard of as a member of Agnihotri Incorporated. Its only until the project is over, that way we can avoid a scandal and still get our work done. And afterward, if you and Sanjeev like, you can rekindle your old flame.
Dushyanth: That’s enough. I will not let you insult my relationships.
Drishti: I’m not insulting anyone or anything, I’m simply protecting what’s mine.
Dushyanth turns to Urvashi.
Dushyanth: I left everything in New Zealand and came here to join this company, simply because I wanted to be closer to my daughter. But you needed me, or else you wouldn’t have called me and I was there for you in your time of need. So tell me, are you going to be there for me now? Are you going to tell this woman that she can stuff her stupid deal? I’m going to give you the choice. If you make this decision against me I will leave the company forever and you can do with it what you see fit but if you want me to continue to support you then tell this woman that I will not leave the company under any circumstance.
Urvashi looks at Dushyanth and doesn’t know what to say. So Drishti speaks instead.
Drishti: What a weak set of choices you’ve presented Dushyanth ji. There isn’t much of a choice at all actually. Keeping you around may prove fruitful for a while but then where’s this company going to advance to with your guidance? But with this new project, Urvashi ji will be so rich she can hire people to do everything for her, including making more money. So you see, there isn’t much of a choice at all. Am I right Urvashi ji?
Both Drishti and Dushyanth wait for Urvashi to answer the question.
Urvashi: Yes… yes you are right. If you want to leave forever Dushyanth then I won’t stop you but otherwise, leave only until this project is over.
Dushyanth looks at Urvashi in shock.
Dushyanth: I can’t believe you’re saying this to me. I sat by and watched while you tore my family apart and never once did I stand in your way and now you do this to me?
Dushyanth shakes his head disdainfully and walks off. Drishti looks at Urvashi.
Drishti: I’m very proud of the decision you’ve made today. Remember, businesses don’t become successful just because we love them, they become successful only when we use our heads. Screw emotions. Think currency.
Drishti smiles at Urvashi and walks away and Urvashi smiles as well. Meanwhile… Dushyanth walks into his room and he’s beside himself. He looks around and then heads out. He goes to Shastra’s room and finds her studying there.
Dushyanth: Shastra, get your things together. We’re leaving.
Shastra: What? Why?
Dushyanth: Don’t ask me any questions just get your things together we have to go now.
Shastra: Ok Dad.
Dushyanth walks out and Shastra thinks to herself…
Shastra: This is crazy. Now we’re leaving too? One by one all the members of this family are leaving Chandra Mahel… And all of this happened from the day Drishti Kaul came into this house.
Shastra shakes her head and then gets up to pack her things. Not long after, Shastra and Dushyanth arrive downstairs and stand before Urvashi.
Urvashi: You’re leaving so soon?
Dushyanth: There’s no more reason to stay here now is there. You’ve made that quite clear.
Urvashi: Well alright then.
Just then Drishti walks in as well…
Drishti: What’s this? Are we having a farewell party?
Dushyanth: Come on Shastra, let’s go.
Shastra: One minute Dad.
Dushyanth wonders what Shastra is about to do. She leaves her bag aside and walks over to Drishti. At this moment Aksh and Rajind walk in from different areas of the house.
Shastra: Mrs. Drishti Kaul… I hope you’re happy now.
Drishti: I’m always happy. But why do you think I’m happy now?
Shastra: Because you’ve successfully torn this family apart.
Drishti looks as though she has taken offense to this.
Shastra: Ever since the day you walked into this house we have had nothing but trouble. I don’t know what you think you’ve accomplished but we used to be happy before you came into our lives.
Drishti: Were you now?
Shastra: Yes we were. We had our differences as a family and we didn’t always get along the way we would have wanted to but nothing was so serious as to make people leave this house.
Drishti: So basically you’re blaming me for you and your father leaving this house?
Shastra: Of course I am.
Drishti: But how is any of this my fault? No one asked Dushyanth to leave.
Shastra: But you asked him to leave the company.
Drishti: Only until this project was over.
Shastra: And why would you do something like that?
Drishti looks at Dushyanth.
Drishti: Oh so you’re father hasn’t told you has he?
Dushyanth: Shastra that’s enough, let’s go.
Drishti: What’s the rush Dushyanth ji? You’re daughter is accusing me of tearing this family apart, don’t you think it’s fair that she knows why you were asked to step out of the company for a short while?
Dushyanth: My daughter knows all she needs to know.
Drishti: Really? Is that why she’s standing here shooting her mouth off at me?
Rajind: Drishti ji, maybe you should just let them leave.
Drishti: I would like to but I would also like to maintain that I have played no hand in anyone making a departure from this house. And to that end I think I owe this young woman an explanation.
Dushyanth: Don’t you dare!
Drishti: Oh so it’s alright for her to accuse me of things I haven’t done but it’s not alright for her to know the truth?
Shastra: What truth are you talking about?
Drishti: We met with one of our business partners last night, a man named Sanjeev Thakral.
Shastra: So?
Drishti: So the reason I wanted Dushyanth to step down till this project was over was because I didn’t want any scandals to surround this new project.
Shastra: Why would he cause a scandal?
Dushyanth walks over to Shastra.
Dushyanth: I said that’s enough, let’s go!
Shastra: No Dad I want to hear what she has to say.
Drishti: It would have caused a scandal because Sanjeev Thakral and Dushyanth Agnihotri used to be… lovers.
Shastra feels as though her world has been ripped intro shreds.
Shastra: That’s a lie. It’s a vicious lie just like everything else that comes out of your mouth!
Drishti: You think I’m lying? Why don’t you ask your father what the truth is then?
Shastra: Dad, tell her, tell her that what she is saying is a lie! Tell her!
Drishti: Come on Dushyanth ji, tell me.
Dushyanth doesn’t know what to say.
Shastra: Dad why aren’t you saying anything? This woman is accusing you of all sorts of things and you’re not even defending yourself!!!
Drishti: How can he? What’s he going to say? That he’s a…
Dushyanth: ENOUGH! You want to know the truth Shastra? I’ll tell you the truth. The truth is that Sanjeev and I used to be lovers! It’s true!
Kurukshetra – Episode 434
Shastra takes a step back from Dushyanth.
Shastra: What did you just say?
Dushyanth: Shastra listen to me.
Shastra: What about Mom? What about…
Dushyanth: I was married to your mother, yes and you are our daughter… but after Sanskriti’s death, I met Sanjeev and…
Shastra: Oh my goodness! No this can’t be happening! This can’t be true!
Dushyanth: I’m afraid it is.
Urvashi: The whole family has known about this all along Shastra, just not you and your cousins.
Drishti: Family? The whole world knows about it. I’m surprised he managed to keep it a secret from you for this long. It was just my luck that I didn’t know that the other man was Sanjeev Thakral.
Shastra shakes her head furiously and then goes running upstairs.
Dushyanth: Shastra! Shastra!
Dushyanth goes running after her. The moment they’re gone Aksh steps forward.
Aksh: What do you want from this family Drishti?
Drishti: Excuse me?
Aksh: I will not excuse you! Not after everything you have done!
Drishti: And what exactly have I don?
Aksh: You had no business to tell Shastra about Dushyanth.
Drishti: Why? So I could be a liar just like you?
Aksh looks confused and Drishti realizes that she needs to cover up.
Drishti: I mean you consider yourself her family don’t you? It should have been one of your duty to tell her about it. The girl has a right to know about her father.
Aksh: But she didn’t have to find out like this!
Aksh turns to Urvashi.
Aksh: Choti Ma, I don’t think you should place your trust in this woman anymore. Shastra was right. Ever since the day she walked into this house we have had nothing but trouble.
Urvashi listens to this.
Aksh: From the moment she set foot into Chandra Mahel our family has left us one by one.
Drishti: This is an outrage! How dare you accuse me of tearing this family apart? I have had enough of this! I’m leaving this place right now!
Urvashi: No Drishti ji… wait… you don’t have to go anywhere. If Aksh has a problem with you living in Chandra Mahel then he can leave!
Aksh looks furious.
Urvashi: After all it’s not like he has any relationships with this house any longer.
Aksh: Choti Ma please! Why can’t you see through this woman? Her business mind has caused the destruction of this family.
Rajind: I don’t think so.
Everyone turns to look at Rajind.
Aksh: What?
Rajind: I don’t think Drishti ji has done any damage to this family that wasn’t already done before.
Aksh: How can you say that? We’ve all lived in this house for many years without any problem… how can you…
Rajind: Please Aksh… you and I have both spent the past so many years without our wives. Don’t tell me that you’ve been happy and if you have been then I have to change my opinion about you. I’m not taking Drishti ji’s side and I’m not saying that she’s right, I’m simply stating that what has happened has been the fault of this family! If we wanted to prevent these things from happening then we should have found a way to deal with it in the years that have gone by. Blaming her for our mistakes is not going to solve anything.
Aksh: I can’t believe that you’re saying all these things!
Rajind: Why shouldn’t I? You yourself have been living a business oriented life all this time and now I see that Drishti ji could really help take the family business to great heights so I’m thinking business as well. Now that Krithika is back home I would like to dedicate more of my time to the business and help Choti Ma with her work.
Urvashi is surprised to hear this.
Aksh: Are you saying that you are placing the business ahead of this family?
Rajind: Isn’t that what you’ve done in the past?
Aksh feels like he’s slapped in the face. He can’t react to it but he can’t ignore it either. He looks at Urvashi who raises a brow at him.
Aksh: Choti Ma please listen to me…
Urvashi: I’ve heard enough of your nonsense. If you don’t like the way things work in this house then you are more than free to follow suit and make your exit. No one is going to stop you. If you want to go, then go! But do not make the mistake of insulting Drishti ji again!
Urvashi walks off in a huff and Drishti walks over to Aksh.
Drishti: It’s so sad really. You’re whole life all you’ve done is latch on to some woman’s pallu! I thought things may have changed, but no… you’re still the same.
Drishti walks away as well. Rajind turns to leave but then…
Aksh: Rajind…
Rajind stops and turns to face Aksh who walks over to him.
Aksh: What has gotten into you?
Rajind: What has gotten into me? I could ask you the same thing.
Aksh: What the hell are you going on about?
Rajind: Please stop putting up this show for our benefit at least now.
Aksh: What show?
Rajind: You should know!
Aksh: I swear I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Rajind: That’s your answer to everything isn’t it? I don’t know this and I don’t know that.
Aksh: I really don’t know what you’re…
Rajind: When I asked you about how Rauktima Di found out about Ashvini Bhabi’s whereabouts you said you knew nothing.
Aksh: So?
Rajind: Both you and I know that’s a lie!
Aksh is shocked to hear this.
Aksh: What do you mean?
Rajind: I know that you know the truth.
Now Aksh is scared.
Rajind: And imagine what I felt when I realized that my wife had to spend the past twenty years in a mental facility because you were too much of a coward to open your mouth.
Aksh: Rajind please I…
Rajind: Shame on you! How could you do this?
Aksh: Please let me explain…
Rajind: There is nothing left to explain and there is nothing left to talk about. I can never trust you again, and that’s sad for the both of us.
Rajind turns on his heel and walks off leaving Aksh all by himself.
Aksh: Something is not right here… How would Rajind know about what happened?
Meanwhile Dushyanth is standing at Shastra’s room door and watching her breaking down. He doesn’t know how to approach her so he just watches. After a long time he finally finds the strength to walk in.
Dushyanth: Shastra…
She looks up at him and wipes away her tears in a fury.
Shastra: Please leave! I don’t want to talk to you.
Dushyanth: You have to listen to me.
Shastra: I don’t have to listen to anything. How many more secrets are you keeping from me?
Dushyanth: Please listen to me… I will tell you everything you need to know about my past. I just didn’t think there would ever be a necessity for it to come up and that’s why I…
Shastra: Dad, we tell each other everything, that has been our relationship from day one, even when you were in New Zealand and I was here.
Dushyanth: You’re right… But Shastra you have to understand that to me you will always be my little girl and I never thought it would be appropriate to discuss such an angle of my life with you.
Shastra calms down for a moment.
Shastra: Wait… do you think I’m ashamed of you because of all this?
Dushyanth: Well aren’t you?
Shastra: No. I’m not. I’m just really angry that you didn’t tell me. We share everything with each other Dad and the fact that you would keep something of this nature from me makes me wonder what else I need to know about the past of this family and where I come from.
Dushyanth seems relieved but he is still tense.
Dushyanth: Shastra, this family’s past is not something that any of us are proud of. We come from a long line of vicious and manipulating people who would do anything to gain victory, including selling their souls to the devil. If we’ve kept certain truths from you it’s only because we’ve wanted what was best for our children and for you to go out into the world without the shadow of these walls clinging tightly over you. Please forgive me…
Shastra looks at him for a long time. Then she wipes away her tears and holds her father’s hand.
Shastra: We’re not going anywhere Dad, we’re going to stay here in Chandra Mahel and fight this woman. Who does she think she is to just walk in here and destroy our lives the way she has?
Dushyanth is taken aback by this.
Dushyanth: Drishti Kaul is a powerful woman. There’s no saying what she might do next.
Shastra: If we keep thinking that way then we’ll never succeed. We have to be strong. Chandra Mahel is our home, not hers. Dadi has never wanted what was best for us, just what was best for her. We have to prove to her now that we want to fight for our legacy and we have to show her that we are capable of winning.
Dushyanth: I agree with you, but there’s just the two of us…
Just then Rajind walks into the room.
Rajind: That’s where you’re wrong.
They both look up at him.
Dushyanth: Rajind… what are you doing here?
Rajind: I’ve come to share something with you. Something that will change the way you see this entire situation.
Dushyanth and Shastra stand up.
Rajind: You are right, Drishti has been responsible for everything that has been going on with this family from the day she arrived.
Shastra: I knew it.
Dushyanth: Wait, how do you know this?
And without warning… Drishti walks into the room.
Drishti: Because I told him.
Dushyanth and Shastra look confused.
Drishti: I’m sorry for the way in which I’ve done things but as I’ve explained to Rajind, it would have been impossible to face Urvashi together as one family with all the ammunition she had against each and every member of this family. She would have kept using the secrets of your pasts to influence your present and keep you as her loyal slaves for the rest of your lives. But now there is no more fear of that.
Dushyanth: What the hell are you talking about?
Rajind: Dushyanth, let her talk.
Drishti: My intention is not to break this family up, but to remind them what it means to stand up for each other through thick and thin, to remind them of the ties and the bonds that make them who they are… that make us who we are…
Shastra: Us?
Drishti: Agnihotris.
Dushyanth: But you are not an Agnihotri.
Drishti: And that’s where you’re wrong. It’s time you know the truth. It’s time I told you, I’m not Drishti Kaul… I am your sister, Dushyanth, it’s me, Rauktima.
Triple Tamasha – Episodes 430, 431 & 432
Kurukshetra – Episode 430
Drishti watches Poornima nearing the room and has a flashback…
Urvashi sees Poornima coming to the kitchen from the corner of her eye and turns back to Rauktima.
Urvashi: So does that mean you don’t have any faith in the Bahus of Chandra Mahel?
Rauktima: When they have double standards and dishonest ways of thinking, no I don’t. And as long as the Betis of this house are around, the Bahus better keep their guard up because I’ll be watching your every move.
Poornima overhears this part of the conversation and walks into the kitchen.
Poornima: What are you saying Didi?
Rauktima: Poornima…
Urvashi: I was just offering her a helping hand and…
Poornima: No need to tell me Chachi, I heard everything. Clearly Rauktima Di doesn’t think that we can maintain a household to her liking.
End flashback…
Drishti turns to Urvashi.
Drishti: But be honest with me Urvashi ji, tell me about your Bahu Poornima. She acts like a smart cookie, but is she really?
Urvashi laughs.
Urvashi: Poornima? Smart? She wishes. You’re right when you say she ‘acts’ like it. I have manipulated that girl in more ways than you can imagine Drishti ji and every single time she just takes the bait you know. She has been a pivotal part of each of my schemes in the past and she hasn’t even known it. She has a mouth like a scissor so all I do is give her the appropriate material to cut with. In my opinion even my Bahu Jaya was smarter than her, although she never showed it. Poornima has and always will be just a pawn in this house that I can move around to my benefit in the games I play and…
Urvashi stops abruptly when she sees Poornima standing at the door. Drishti turns to look at her and pretends to look guilty.
Urvashi: Poornima… did you want something?
Poornima: All these years I’ve been so faithful to you and this is what you’ve thought of me all along?
Urvashi: What are you talking about I just…
Poornima: I heard everything you said about me Choti Ma.
Urvashi: No I was just…
Poornima: Please don’t embarrass yourself in front of your guest by changing your story. Excuse me.
Poornima walks off and Urvashi shakes her head.
Drishti: And she’s emotional too.
Urvashi: Aren’t they all?
Drishti: Their greatest downfall if you ask me.
Urvashi: Absolutely, shall we have a drink then?
Drishti: Why not?
Urvashi goes to get a drink and Drishti smiles to herself. Meanwhile… Rajind finds himself standing outside Chopra Mansion. He walks into the house and looks around. A woman around his age walks into the living room, she’s decked in jewelry and looks slightly vicious… She walks over to Rajind. He sees her.
Rajind: Hello Nirmala, how are you?
Nirmala: I’m fine thank you. What’s the matter Rajind? Have you forgotten the way to Chandra Mahel?
Rajind: No, I came here to see someone.
Nirmala: Oh goody… the great powers that be in the palace of the moon have decided to grace us with their presence.
Rajind: Um… is Ashvini Bhabi at home?
Nirmala: Bua ji is in her room, I don’t have the heart to disturb her…
Just then they both hear Ashvini’s voice…
Ashvini: Just say you don’t have a heart at all Bahu.
Rajind and Nirmala turn to look at Ashvini as she comes walking down the stairs. She hasn’t changed much, she just looks a lot calmer than she used to. She walks over to Rajind.
Ashvini: What brings you to Chopra Mansion Rajind?
Nirmala: I was just asking him the same thing Bua ji.
Ashvini: Really, well now that he’s here you might as well give him something to drink don’t you think?
Nirmala: Yes Bua ji.
Nirmala walks away and Ashvini turns to Rajind.
Ashvini: I don’t know how Vidhushi Bhabi tolerates her but she is Vayu’s wife Veer’s mother so I suppose I have to tolerate her as well. But that doesn’t mean you need to. The next time she says something cocky to you just tell her off Rajind.
Rajind just smiles.
Ashvini: Have a seat, tell me what made you come to Chopra Mansion to see me after all this time.
They both sit down.
Rajind: Actually Bhabi… I needed to ask you something about the past.
Ashvini: Sounds interesting. What did you want to ask?
Rajind: I don’t mean to bring up bad memories but there is something that I really, really need to know.
Ashvini: Alright…
Rajind: Bhabi… remember the time you… uh…
Ashvini: Rajind, I’ve done lots of things that I’m not so proud of. It’s alright to bring them up.
Rajind: Ok… Remember the time you kidnapped Shastra?
Ashvini is a bit taken aback… but she’s calm.
Ashvini: Yes…
Rajind: It was Rauktima Di who found you right?
Ashvini: Yes.
Rajind: Bhabi I need to know how she found you.
Ashvini: What?
Rajind: Yes it’s very important that I find out how she found you. I mean no one knew where you were and no one could find you but she did. How?
Ashvini starts to think…
Ashvini: Actually Rajind… All I remember is Rauktima coming into the house and then after that we fought briefly but then the police came and we all know what happened after that. To tell you the truth I don’t quite know how she found me either.
Rajind looks disappointed.
Ashvini: Why did you want to know?
Rajind: It was… I was…
Just then Nirmala walks back in with some tea.
Nirmala: Here you go.
Rajind: Thank you.
Nirmala stands around waiting for them to continue their conversation. Ashvini looks up at her.
Ashvini: Now don’t tell me you have nothing better to do in this house other than stand here and listen to our conversation Bahu.
Nirmala: Well I…
Ashvini: Come on, make yourself scarce.
Nirmala: Yes Bua ji.
Nirmala walks off and Rajind stands to leave.
Ashvini: Are you off so soon?
Rajind: Yes Bhabi. I have to get back home. Krithika needs me.
Ashvini: Krithika is back home is she?
Rajind: Yes she is. I thought you would know.
Ashvini: How would I? The ties between Chopra Mansion and Chandra Mahel seem to have been severed a long time ago. But it’s alright, what’s to be done.
Rajind: Thank you for your time and I’m sorry if I wasted it.
Ashvini: Not at all, and please drop by whenever you feel like it. You know I’m forbidden from coming to Chandra Mahel but no one is forbidden from coming here. I’m sure Naren Bhaiyya and Vidhushi Bhabi will appreciate it a lot and so will Vayu.
Rajind: Ok Bhabi. Thanks again.
He leaves and Ashvini smiles. Later… Urvashi is sitting in the great hall when Nachiket walks in.
Nachiket: Choti Ma, can I talk to you?
Urvashi: Of course, sit down.
Nachiket sits.
Urvashi: So I guess you’ve made your mind up about the offer then?
Nachiket: Yes I have.
Urvashi: And you’ve decided to sell?
Nachiket: No I haven’t.
Urvashi is taken aback.
Urvashi: What do you mean you haven’t?
Nachiket: I’ve given it a lot of thought Choti Ma and as big as this offer is, I can’t just let go of my mother’s company like that. It meant too much to her and therefore it means a lot to me.
Urvashi: Nachiket, this is no time to be emotional about the past.
Nachiket: Maybe I am being emotional but I believe that I’m doing the right thing. I can’t let everything she built for so many years just be taken away for some money.
Urvashi: Some money? Do you have any idea what kind of money we’re talking about here?
Nachiket: I do and I’m sorry but this is my final decision.
Urvashi breathes in deeply.
Urvashi: Well I’m sorry too but my final decision is that we are selling.
Nachiket is shocked to hear this.
Nachiket: What?
Urvashi: You might be dead set on making this foolish move but I’m certainly not.
Nachiket: But I don’t want to sell.
Urvashi: That may be so but I do want to sell and I will.
Nachiket: But you can’t do that.
Urvashi: Like hell I can’t. You forget that the day you moved into Agnihotri Incorporated we merged the Singhania Group of Companies with it. Your mother’s company is now a subsidiary of Agnihotri Inc. and therefore I get to take the final call on all these decisions. I asked you about what you want to do out of decency but if this is what you have decided then I’m going to have to overrule you. Singhania will be sold and that’s that.
At this point Poornima walks in as well.
Nachiket: And I’m telling you that’s not how it’s going to be.
Nachiket stands up.
Nachiket: I won’t allow it.
Urvashi: You won’t allow it? My dear boy I’m afraid you have no choice.
Nachiket: That’s what you think Choti Ma, but I am no fool. I read those papers before I signed them years ago. Singhania remains a subsidiary of Agnihotri Incorporated only for as long as I do. If I leave the company then Singhania goes with me.
Urvashi: Are you threatening me?
Nachiket: I think you’ve got this the wrong way around. You are the one making threats and leaving me with no choice. I will not sell this company at any cost and if I have to leave Agnihotri Inc. to keep it that way then I will.
Urvashi: You will be making a big mistake.
Nachiket: Actually I think the biggest mistake I made was joining hands with you. You will have my resignation within the hour and I’ll be moving to Singhania Mansion with Poornima and Shubh as soon as possible.
He turns to Poornima.
Nachiket: Come on Poornima, we have to pack.
Nachiket walks up and Urvashi stands up, she goes to Poornima.
Urvashi: Explain to your husband that he’s making a mistake and help him see…
Poornima: I’m sorry Choti Ma, but I’m just a stupid pawn am I not? Yesterday I did your bidding and today I’ll do my husband’s bidding.
Kurukshetra – Episode 431
Urvashi looks angry and Poornima continues to stare blankly at her.
Urvashi: Listen to me Poornima…
Poornima: The time for listening is over because I’ve heard all I had to hear. If this is Nachiket’s final decision then as his wife all I can do is support it. I’m sorry Choti Ma but if he says we’re leaving then we’re leaving.
Poornima walks away and Urvashi is left frothing in fury. Just then Drishti walks in.
Drishti: That didn’t go so well did it?
Urvashi: Can you believe how stupid these people are?
Drishti: Let them go Urvashi ji, let them go. They can stay tied to their emotions for the rest of their lives and never gain any success. Don’t think of this as a loss but as something you have gained. This way, when the Amsterdam project takes off and the profits come in, you won’t have to share it with anyone.
Urvashi thinks about this for a while.
Urvashi: You’re right. You’re absolutely right.
Drishti: There, don’t you feel better now?
Urvashi: I do. Thank you Drishti ji, you’ve been such a good friend to me through all this.
Drishti: Urvashi ji, you’ve opened your house to me and you’ve treated me like a member of this family, why wouldn’t I be there for you, as your friend.
Urvashi: It means a lot to me.
Urvashi smiles and walks off and Drishti smiles as well, she thinks to herself…
Drishti: I’m playing the same game you played on this house Urvashi and you can’t even see it. You too came into this house as a friend and then turned into our biggest enemy after which you destroyed everything. The same way, today I’ve come back into this house as your friend and you don’t even know that I am indeed your biggest enemy and I won’t stop until I’ve destroyed you completely.
She turns around to walk away and sees Geet standing there.
Drishti: Geet?
Geet: Dad told me about what you had said to Nachiket Maama.
Drishti: Did he now?
Geet: How could you be so cold and cruel?
Drishti: I was merely trying to explain to him that…
Geet: Save it, Mrs. Drishti Kaul. Explanations are expected from those who are your own and you mean nothing to me. I wish you had stayed away from us, I wish you had stayed dead!
Drishti is hurt when she hears this but Geet just walks away ands she fights back a tear, thinking to herself…
Drishti: I’m sorry Geet but I’m doing all of this to save our family from Urvashi. You will understand why I’m doing what I’m doing one day and then you’ll see why this was the only way.
Later that evening, Rajind is in deep thought on the terrace when Dushyanth sees him. He walks over to him.
Dushyanth: Jeeja ji.
Rajind is jolted out of his train of thought.
Rajind: Dushyanth, I didn’t see you come in.
Dushyanth: I noticed. Is something on your mind?
Rajind: No… I was just thinking about Krithika.
Dushyanth: I’ve been thinking a lot about her as well.
Rajind: Sometimes I don’t have the strength to even sit down and talk to her. She used to be so full of life and now…
Dushyanth: Don’t worry Jeeja ji, she will be fine.
Rajind: I hope so.
Dushyanth: You know, the other day when I was with her, she did say something to me.
Rajind: Really? What did she say?
Dushyanth: It was something about telling Kartik Chachu something.
Rajind’s ears pick up.
Rajind: What did she want to tell him?
Dushyanth: She just kept saying that she had to say something to him before it was too late. Does that mean anything to you?
Rajind: Well, the day Krithika lost her baby she was found outside Dad’s room. She insisted that she wanted to tell him something but then…
Dushyanth: So she never mentioned what it was that she wanted to tell him?
Rajind: No… but it had something to do with Nakshatra’s death.
Dushyanth: What? So maybe she knew that Kartik Chachu was going to do something and…
Rajind: That’s the thing. She never accused him of anything.
Dushyanth: Then whom did she accuse?
Rajind: Choti Ma.
Dushyanth is shocked to hear this.
Rajind: She said that Choti Ma had Nakshatra killed.
Dushyanth: But that doesn’t make any sense. Why would Choti Ma kill her own son?
Rajind: According to Krithika, Choti Ma’s entrance into this house happened through a major conspiracy. She said that…
Rajind tells Dushyanth the whole story. Dushyanth listens with his mouth opened and is very shocked to hear all of this.
Rajind: And soon after that Krithika was sent to the mental facility. None of us wanted to believe she was mad but at the same time, the things she was saying and add to that, everybody knew that she reacted the same way when she lost her first child.
Dushyanth: But do you believe her now?
Rajind: I don’t know what to believe anymore… I went to see Ashvini Bhabi today.
Dushyanth: Why?
Rajind: I wanted to ask her how exactly Rauktima Di found her and Shastra.
Dushyanth: Did she say anything?
Rajind: According to her Rauktima Di just showed up one day with the police. She never knew how she found her.
Dushyanth: I suppose the only way we can find the truth out is by making Krithika well again.
Rajind: I guess.
Meanwhile… Krithika has made her way downstairs and is walking aimlessly around the house. She sees the mandir and walks into it. She spends some time there looking around and then she walks out again. At this point, Urvashi has also walked in and she sees Krithika.
Urvashi: You… what are you doing out of your room?
Krithika doesn’t answer her and just stares into space.
Urvashi: Silly me, I’m asking a madwoman what she’s doing roaming around. What’s the matter Krithika? Are you looking for things that will help you remember your past? Are you trying to resurrect your memories of Chandra Mahel and of all your brothers and sisters? Too bad you won’t be able to.
Krithika looks up at Urvashi at this point.
Urvashi: You know when I first brought you back home I was always a little afraid of how things would turn out. I didn’t know what condition you would be in. But when I see you now, I know that nothing will go wrong. You know why? Because you will never be well again.
Urvashi walks over to Krithika and starts circling her.
Urvashi: You and your sister thought you would rule Chandra Mahel but look at what happened. The only person who rules this house now is me. And frankly, you have no one left to even take care of you except that worthless husband of yours. All your darling brothers are gone…
At that point Dushyanth walks in.
Dushyanth: What are you saying Choti Ma?
Urvashi turns to look at him.
Urvashi: I was just talking to Kritihika in hopes that she would remember something.
Dushyanth: Didn’t sound like that to me.
Urvashi: Well either way it’s not like I care.
Urvashi shrugs and walks off. Dushyanth goes over to Krithika.
Dushyanth: Don’t listen to her Di. The others may have gone but I’m still here. Your little brother is here to take care of you. Don’t worry about a thing. Come with me, let me take you back to your room.
Dushyanth takes Krithika by the hand and then Krithika looks up at him.
Krithika: Dushyanth…
Dushyanth is both surprised and thrilled to hear her say his name.
Dushyanth: Didi… did you just call me by my name?
Krithika stares at him for a long time.
Dushyanth: It’s ok, you don’t have to say anything else… it’s alright Di… Come on, let’s get you to your room.
Dushyanth leads Krithika away and unknown to them Drishti is watching all of this. She thinks to herself…
Drishti: This is how we used to be. No matter what disaster befell this family we were always there for each other. But everyone has just given into Urvashi out of fear or helplessness. I promised myself that I would break this family completely before I made it again and that’s exactly what I’m doing. The most important thing is that everyone understands Urvashi will go to great lengths to satisfy her own desires. Everyone who has left will return and that will be the day that this family is together again. It will all be over soon…
The next day… Urvashi is having breakfast when Drishti walks in. She goes over to the table and sits down.
Drishti: Good morning Urvashi ji.
Urvashi: Drishti ji, good morning, have some breakfast.
Drishti: I will, thank you. Actually I wanted to talk to you about something else.
Urvashi: Tell me.
Drishti: An important business associate of mine has just flown into India and I promised to take him out to dinner. But now that we’ve become partners I was thinking it would be nice if you could join us too.
Urvashi: Oh lovely.
Drishti: I’ll have to call the hotel and organize the thing for this evening so…
Urvashi: Hotel? What nonsense. If this associate of yours is as important as you say then you might as well bring him here to Chandra Mahel. I mean it’s no hotel but it is a palace.
They both laugh.
Drishti: Urvashi ji, you’ve already done so much for me, I don’t want to trouble you or the household anymore.
Urvashi: What nonsense. Just set the time and let me know, I’ll have the servants prepare a feast.
Drishti: Are you sure?
Urvashi: Of course I’m sure.
Drishti: But wouldn’t it be impersonal if he’s coming to Chandra Mahel and only the two are present for diner.
Urvashi: You’re right. I’ll tell you what, I’ll ask Aksh to join us, if that’s alright with you.
Drishti: Of course it is.
Urvashi: And I’ll ask Dushyanth to join us as well. Now that the others are no longer here I might as well turn to the people I can depend on.
Drishti: That’s great. Thank you so much Urvashi ji. Shall we say eight this evening?
Urvashi: Sounds perfect.
Drishti: I’ll go make the call.
Urvashi: Ok.
Drishti gets up and leaves. Urvashi continues to eat. Meanwhile… in his room, Rajind gets a call.
Rajind: Hello?
Ashvini: Rajind, it’s Ashvini.
Rajind: Hello Bhabi, what can I do for you?
Ashvini: Actually there maybe something I can do for you.
Rajind: Did you remember anything about what I asked you?
Ashvini: I did. You looked so tense I decided I owed it to you to think about all I remembered. You know while I was in hiding with Shastra I did all I could to make sure no one saw me and I was certain no one did. But then I remembered that one day when I was out shopping there was a woman who was giving me strange looks. I didn’t know her at the time so I presumed she was just curious. But it never crossed my mind that that woman was Urvashi Chachi.
Kurukshetra – Episode 432
Rajind’s eyes go wide in shock.
Ashvini: You see I didn’t know who she was at the time and so it didn’t really matter. But now when I think about it I realize that it is possible she recognized me and then she may have followed me to where I was hiding. Apart from that I can’t think of any other way that Rauktima could have found out where I was.
There is a moment of silence.
Ashvini: Hello? Rajind are you there?
Rajind: Yes Bhabi, I am. I uh… thank you so much for calling. I’m in a bit of a hurry now so I’ll call you back.
Ashvini: Alright. Take care.
Rajind: You too.
They hang up and Rajind continues to look shocked.
Rajind: If Choti Ma was the one who told Rauktima Di about where Ashvini Bhabi was hiding then that means that everything Krithika was saying was true.
Rajind feels as though someone has ripped the earth out from under his feet.
Rajind: God save us… then that means that… no… how can this be possible? That means that Choti Ma really did kill Nakshatra. That means that she purposely sent Krithika to the mental facility and kept her there all these years because Krithika knew the truth and Kartik Chachu is in jail for something he didn’t do.
Voice: Yes it’s all true…
Rajind feels the blood drain from his face as he slowly turns around to see who has heard him. He is shocked beyond belief to see Drishti standing there.
Drishti: It’s all true Rajind. Everything that you suspect is all true.
Rajind: What are you doing here? What do you want?
Drishti: I want to tell you the truth about what happened in Chandra Mahel twenty years ago.
Rajind: But how would you know what happened here?
Drishti: Because… because I’m not Drishti Kaul…
Rajind’s eyes almost pop out of his head.
Drishti: It’s me… Rauktima.
Now Rajind is reeling in shock.
Rajind: What?
Drishti walks in and closes the door. She then goes over to Rajind.
Drishti: Look at me… I’m Rauktima.
Rajind: You can’t be… you’re…
Drishti: Dead? No… Drishti is dead.
Rajind: I don’t understand.
Drishti: We don’t have a lot of time but I need to tell you everything fast.
Drishti tells Rajind about Urvashi’s ill intentions and how she wanted to break Kaushik and Darpana’s marriage but then how she set her eyes on Kartik. She then tells him about how she found out where Ashvini was holding Shastra and blackmailed Rauktima into getting her married to Kartik. She goes on to tell him about how Urvashi intentionally attempted to kill her and how she went into a coma for six years and she follows it up with the deal she made with Gajendra Kaul and how she spent the last fourteen years creating a name for herself as Drishti Kaul so that she would have all the power she needed to return to Chandra Mahel and destroy Urvashi once and for all. Rajind feels like he’s on information overload.
Rajind: Didi? Is that really you?
Drishti: It is… I’m so sorry about everything that I have said and done since I came into Chandra Mahel but I only did all those things to ensure Urvashi would never doubt the fact that I was Drishti and not Rauktima. I had to turn my heart to stone and say mean things to my brothers, insult my sister and show no love to the children of this house. But I did all these things to make each and every member of this family see that Urvashi was manipulating them all these years and that she only cares about herself.
Rajind frowns for a while.
Rajind: But Didi, if what you’re saying is true then Aksh knew about Urvashi from the beginning.
Drishti: Yes he did.
Rajind: Then why did he lie to me?
Drishti: What do you mean?
Rajind: I went to ask him if he knew how you found Shastra and he said you never told him. And when Krithika first accused Choti Ma of all these things Aksh never once opened his mouth to side with her.
Drishti is shocked to hear this.
Drishti: He was just silent?
Rajind: Yes.
Drishti: Maybe Urvashi is threatening him with something.
Rajind: But that still doesn’t account for why he’s lied to us for all these years. Didi my wife has spent twenty years in a mental facility. How could he do this?
Drishti: That is something we’re going to have to deal with later. Right now I need your help because apart from me and Krithika, you’re the only one who knows the truth. But I can’t act on anything because I need to continue maintaining this act of mine instead and Krithika is in no condition to reveal anything and even if she does Urvashi will just do what she did to her twenty years ago. But now that you know the truth you have to be very careful Rajind. No one must know about this until the right time. Tell me are you with me? Will you fight with me to rid this house of the evil named Urvashi?
Rajind feels a new kind of strength come over him. He looks at her straight in the eye…
Rajind: Of course Didi. I’m with you.
Drishti smiles.
Drishti: Thank you… now this battle will end far sooner than I expected it to. But before we take Urvashi on, there’s one more thing we have to do.
Rajind: What’s that?
Drishti: I’ve severed her ties with this family one by one. It was me who made the call to Dadi Bua, bringing her here but I made the call from Jaya’s phone so that Urvashi would be forced to punish her by revealing her secret. I was the one who staged Manasvi’s kidnapping so that Urvashi would lose her hold on Katya Bhabi and I was the one who called Manisha Chachi and brought her here to reveal the truth about Manasvi’s paternity. Then I used Sangeeta Chachi’s company as leverage to make Nachiket open his eyes to Urvashi’s reality and it all went as planned. All three families have left her and now all she has left is Dushyanth. But after tonight, she won’t have him either.
Rajind: How are you planning on doing that?
Drishti: I wish I could tell you but if I did then you would try to stop me. But you need to know one thing Rajind, when we get together as a family again it has to be without secrets and tarnished pasts. Everyone has to come to terms with their past and so do their children. That is the only way we’ll ever have peace in Chandra Mahel. Otherwise, every day someone keeps on holding to some semblance of what was and they keep using it against us. But if we deal with our past now then no one can trouble us in the future. So now Dushyanth has to come face to face with his past just like the others did.
Rajind: But Didi…
Drishti: Trust me, please… All I need you to do for now is take care of Krithika and don’t let any misfortune befall her. Keep her safe and when the time is right we will make Urvashi pay for what she has done.
Rajind thinks for a while and then nods his head.
Drishti: Tonight Urvashi will lose her last pawn on the chessboard and then she will be mine to control completely.
Drishti and Rajind exchange looks one last time and then part ways. While Rajind is making his way to his room he runs into Aksh.
Aksh: Rajind… slow down. Where’s the fire?
Rajind: I’m afraid I’m too late to put it out. But it’s nice to know some people like watching it burn.
Aksh: What? What are you talking about?
Rajind: Sorry… just a little something a I read somewhere. By the way, I wanted to ask you one more time if you knew about how Rauktima Di found Shastra and Ashvini Bhabi.
Aksh: I told you… I don’t know…
Rajind: Yes, yes you did. Alright then. I have to go check on Krithika now.
Rajind walks off and Aksh looks confused. Later that evening, everything is prepared for dinner and Drishti comes downstairs looking more beautiful than ever. As she walks into the great hall she runs into Aksh who is on an intercept path.
Drishti: Oh for goodness sake do I need to ask you to watch where you’re going?
Aksh: No. I can see clearly ahead.
Drishti: Really? I always thought contrary. Excuse me.
Drishti walks off and Aksh shakes his head in dismay. She sees Urvashi giving the servants some last minute instructions and walks over to her.
Drishti: Urvashi ji, I have to say you have outdone yourself this time. Everything looks brilliant.
Urvashi: Thank you Drishti ji, it’s important to make a good first impression, that’s what I think.
Drishti: And I’ve always told you, I like the way you think.
Urvashi: Of course. Come, let’s get started on a drink and Dushyanth will be with us shortly.
Drishti: Excellent.
The two of them move over to a drink stand and Urvashi pours some drinks. Just then Dushyanth walks in.
Urvashi: Ah, you’re just on time.
Dushyanth: For one… but that’s easy, there’s less people clogging the taps in the house, so I was able to have a quick wash.
Urvashi gives Dushyanth a disdainful look.
Urvashi: Look I know you’re upset about your brothers leaving the house but I never asked them to go.
Dushyanth: I’d rather not get into this right now. Let’s just have dinner.
Drishti: We can’t, our guest isn’t here yet.
Dushyanth: Great, then I suppose I’ll join you for a drink.
Urvashi: Please…
The three of them now have drinks in their hand and they sit down to have them. At long last they hear a car outside and they all stand up. Drishti turns to face the other two.
Drishti: Wait here, I’ll go welcome him and bring him in.
Urvashi: Alright.
Drishti leaves.
Dushyanth: Why is she making such a huge fuss over this business partner of hers?
Urvashi: Apparently he’s someone very important and they’ve been working together for some time now and she obviously wants to keep him in the good books. I like the way this woman does business, she makes it look so easy.
Dushyanth: She has no other life, of course it’s easy for her.
Urvashi: We should learn something from an emotionless person such as herself… She’s a good example of how you must keep your distractions away when you’re dedicated to completing a task.
Urvashi looks away from Dushyanth to the entrance of the great hall and just then her jaw drops. Dushyanth sees the weird look on her face and he too turns to look at what she’s looking at. Suddenly he feels as though the room is spinning out of control. He tries to catch his breath but finds it increasingly difficult to do.
Drishti: Urvashi ji, Dushyanth ji, I would like you to meet one of my oldest business partners and a good friend, Mr. Sanjeev Thakral.
Sanjeev looks smart and well dressed but his face shows how uncomfortable he is standing inside Chandra Mahel in front of Dushyanth. Drishti knows exactly what is going on but still looks back and forth from Sanjeev to Dushyanth and Urvashi and pretends to act as though she’s sensing some bad vibe.
Drishti: Is everything alright?
No one says anything.
Drishti: Oh I’m sorry do you already know each other?
Urvashi: Actually… Sanjeev is from the Thalral family and even though Soumil is technically an Agnihotri, he grew up most of his life thinking he was a Thakral and therefore he and Sanjeev are like cousins…
Sanjeev: There’s more to that story Urvashi ji, and you know it.
Drishti: There is? Well what is it?
Sanjeev looks at Dushyanth.
Sanjeev: Do you want to tell her Dushyanth or should I?
Dushyanth looks dumbstruck.

Kurukshetra – Episode 429
The next day… Aksh is busy working in his office when Rajind walks in.
Rajind: Good morning.
Aksh: Hey, come on in.
Rajind:Thanks. How’s work going?
Aksh: Well it would have been a mess without you here but thankfully Geet has got everything under control
Rajind: He’s a smart boy.
Aksh: So what brings you in and how is Krithika?
Rajind: She’s fine… but I’m here to talk to you about Rauktima Di.
Aksh: Oh?
Rajind: Yea… you know… you never told me how she managed to find Shastra and Ashvini Bhabi all those years ago.
Aksh is a bit puzzled to hear this.
Rajind: I mean, we all spent so much time trying to locate her after Ashvini Bhabi kidnapped her. And then one day out of no where, bam, Rauktima Di finds her.
Aksh: Actually what happened was…
Aksh is about to say how Rauktima found the baby when he has a flashback…
Urvashi: I’ll tell you what I’ll do with you…
Aksh is tense.
Urvashi: Nothing… Absolutely nothing.
Now he’s surprised.
Urvashi: Consider this your lucky day Damad ji. As you know, I’ve taken care of every single person that has come in my way. Rauktima, Nakshatra, Kartik and now Krithika. We don’t want the same thing to happen to you now do we? So let’s make a deal you and me.
Aksh: What sort of deal?
Urvashi: I’ll leave you alone to pine over the loss of your wife… but in exchange, you will keep your mouth shut about all the things you know.
Aksh: But…
Urvashi: Did I say there was room for compromise? I don’t think so. You do as I say and I’ll leave you alone, try to break your boundaries and Geet is not going to be very safe…
End flashback…
Aksh: So what happened was… Rauktima suddenly told me that she had a lead but she didn’t want to tell anyone anything until she found out for sure. Then on the day of Kartik Chachu and Choti Ma’s wedding, she suddenly honed in on her discovery and went over to Ashvini Bhabi’s hideout. After that we never really asked her how she managed to find Shastra because it seemed irrelevant.
Rajind looks disappointed.
Aksh: Is there a particular reason you wanted to know about this?
Rajind: Well… never mind, it’s pointless I guess.
Aksh: Rajind, I think that you should focus all of your efforts into making Krithika well again, don’t go digging up the past, there’s only heartache to be found there, for both you and me.
Rajind: I suppose you’re right. I have to be headed back home now. I’ll see you later.
Aksh: Alright.
Rajind leaves and Aksh thinks to himself…
Aksh: I’m sorry I had to lie to you my friend. It’s not been easy for me to keep these secrets to myself all these years but I’ve had no choice. I haven’t fallen asleep properly in the past twenty years knowing that our family is being ruled by the same woman who hurt Rauktima and killed Nakshatra and imprisoned Kartik Chachu and proved Krithika was insane. But I’ve simply had no choice.
And outside the office… Rajind is still not convinced. He thinks to himself…
Rajind: This insanity in Krithika has to have sprung up from somewhere, there has to be some basis to why this happened to her and I refuse to believe it had anything to do with her losing her baby. There is more to this story and I will not rest till I find out what it is. Aksh may not have the answers to my questions but there is someone else who might.
Meanwhile… at Chandra Mahel…
Nachiket: You wanted to see me Choti Ma.
Urvashi: Yes Nachiket have a seat.
He sits down and Urvashi looks all business like.
Urvashi: I’ve just received a very impressive offer and I’m inclined to take it.
Nachiket: Really? What is the offer?
Urvashi: You know how much we’ve invested in the Amsterdam project don’t you?
Nachiket: Yes.
Urvashi: And you agree it’s a large sum.
Nachiket: Of course.
Urvashi: Would you believe me if I told you that someone is willing to pay us thrice that amount for the Singhania Group of Companies?
Nachiket doesn’t know how to react.
Urvashi: Isn’t that… impressive?
Nachiket: It is Choti Ma.
Urvashi: Then you agree that we should sell.
Nachiket: Choti Ma, that sort of money may never come our way again.
Urvashi: I knew you’d agree with me on that.
Nachiket: But we’re talking about Mom’s company.
Urvashi: What’s your point?
Nachiket: My point is, she spent her whole life building that company and she left it to me when she died.
Urvashi: And now you have the chance to benefit from something she’s left behind.
Nachiket: I don’t know Choti Ma… Knowing that I have that company with me makes me feel like I still have her with me.
Urvashi: You must not attach yourself on to things like that Nachiket. You have her memories and all the good things she’s left behind for you. You should consider this a blessing from her that someone is willing to pay so much for a company that’s not really worth the amount. Don’t you think?
Nachiket looks disturbed.
Nachiket: If you could just give me some time to think this over.
Urvashi: Of course. But make it fast. Offers like this don’t last a lifetime. They come, they go.
Nachiket: I promise I’ll let you know soon.
Nachiket walks out of her room looking deflated. He walks through the house aimlessly and in deep thought. Finally he has arrived near the dining room and Poornima is just walking out of the kitchen when she sees him. She walks over to him.
Poornima: Hey.
He looks up at her.
Nachiket: Hi.
Poornima: What’s going on? Why do you look so upset?
Nachiket: It’s nothing.
Poornima: Come on Nachiket, something must have happened.
Nachiket: Well… Choti Mas has got an offer, someone wants to buy Mom’s company off us.
Poornima: What?
Nachiket: Yea. And they’re willing to pay three times the amount we’ve invested in the Amsterdam project.
Poornima: Is that a lot of money?
Nachiket: More than you can imagine.
Poornima: So why are you upset then?
Nachiket: How can I not be Poornima? My mother and shared the closest relationship a parent and child could have shared in this house. She was not just my mother, she was my best friend. There was nothing in this world she wouldn’t have done for me, so much so that she went looking for you when we found out you were pregnant. This company was her life both before and after her time at Chandra Mahel. She put all she had into this company and I can’t part with it just because someone is willing to pay a lot of money for it.
Poornima: Nachiket, life goes on. I’m not saying that you should forget your mother but I know that if she were alive today she would want only what was best for you and your family. She would have wanted you to take this offer.
Just then Drishti walks by and goes over to them.
Drishti: I see Urvashi ji has told you about the offer on the Singhania Company.
Nachiket: She did.
Drishti: You look really unhappy for someone who’s about to make a lot of money.
Nachiket: I just don’t know how to react to selling my mother’s company; it’s the one thing that I have that keeps me close to her memory.
Poornima: Memories will always remain in our hearts Nachiket. But we must think about the future too.
Drishti raises a brow and then gets her vicious face on.
Drishti: You should listen to your wife Nachiket ji. I mean after all, it’s not like the dead are going to come back to life.
Nachiket looks up when he hears this and so does Poornima.
Drishti: I mean the people who’ve left us have left us, what’s the point of holding on to their memories. The only good those memories can do for us is help us make some profit. And you stand to profit quite a bit out of this deal. Who cares whether or not your dead mother’s memories are attached to this company? You should consider yourself lucky to be inheriting off her even after she’s gone to the great beyond.
Nachiket is angry now.
Nachiket: Drishti ji, you’re a guest in my home so I would prefer to refrain from saying anything out of line to you but I would appreciate it if you didn’t talk about my mother that way.
Drishti: Oh I’m sorry did I say something I shouldn’t have? You seemed to have no problem with your wife saying you should sell the company.
Poornima: What is that supposed to mean?
Drishti: It means that your husband is alright with his wife saying that he should sell his mother’s legacy but when it comes from an outsider, he suddenly feels bad.
Poornima: I only meant that…
Drishti: Relax Poornima ji, relax. I’m on your side here. I’m in total agreement with you. Of course he should sell. He can buy another mother with the amount he’ll mint out of it.
Nachiket: DRISHTI JI!
Drishti: Please don’t raise your voice at me Mr. Nachiket Agnihotri. I may be blunt and direct but at least I don’t have double standards like you. If I were in your shoes I would sell. You know why? Because I believe that money makes the world go round and dead men tell no tales. But you… you can’t seem to decide between selling your mother’s legacy and keeping it. Your suffering with a question that you should be able to answer in one breath. I may be a bitch but at least I’m principled as such and I don’t change like the weather for anyone or anything. You can’t decide between what is black and what is white. Sell if you want or keep your company if you wish, doesn’t make a difference to me, not like I’m making any money out of this.
Drishti scoffs and walks away.
Poornima: Are you alright?
Nachiket: No I’m not alright! Who the hell does that woman think she is to talk to me that way? How dare she!!! This company is not just another business deal for me. It is my mother’s blood, sweat and tears! I will not part with it just because I can make a quick buck off it.
Poornima: Nachiket…
Nachiket: That is my final decision and I sure as hell hope you will support me on this.
Poornima: I… well… if that is what you want.
Nachiket: It is.
Poornima: Ok.
Nachiket walks off in a rage and Poornima looks confused but she is also angry. She decides to go after Drishti who has gone to see Urvashi.
Drishti: Any luck with talking to your nephew about the sale Urvashi ji?
Urvashi: He seemed a bit skeptical but I’m sure he’ll come around.
Drishti: He does seem rather attached to the company doesn’t he?
Urvashi: Well it was his mother’s company and the people in this house are so based on emotion sometimes it kills me.
Drishti looks to her side and sees Poornima approaching. She thinks to herself…
Drishti: Now’s the perfect time to play the same game you played with me all over again Urvashi.
Not too far away from Chandra Mahel… Rajind pulls up outside Chopra Mansion. He looks at it as he gets out of his car and he thinks to himself….
Rajind: This is the only other place I could come to in order to find the answers I’m looking for. I only hope Ashvini Bhabi will be willing to talk to me about what happened all those years ago. Well… here I go.
Episode 428
Kurukshetra – Episode 428
Manasvi stands facing everyone in the room and she looks quite upset.
Manasvi: I hate the fact that we’re all fighting over this. I know that something bad almost happened but the truth of the matter is it didn’t. Yes I am shocked to hear the truth of my birth and I wish that someone would have said something to me sooner. But at the same time, I can’t deny the fact that Soumil Agnihotri is the only father I have known all my life.
Manisha detests this statement.
Manasvi: Dadi, if you hadn’t shown up today then I would have spent the rest of my life knowing for certain that this man is my father and no one else. But even after you’ve said what you’ve said, I can’t bring myself to believe it. Chandra Mahel is my home, this is my family. This is my mother and my father. I’m not a Kapoor, I’m an Agnihotri and that’s how I will continue to live. I hope you understand.
Manisha is angry.
Manisha: These people have brainwashed you with their lies. Let me tell you about who these so called parents of yours really are…
Katya almost opens her mouth to say something when…
Manasvi: You’ve said all you wanted to. I don’t want to hear anymore. I just want you to leave. Please.
Manasvi looks at her parents and although she doesn’t smile at them, the two of them breathe a sigh of relief. She walks out of the room and Manisha turns to Soumil and Katya.
Manisha: This isn’t over, I hope you know that.
She too turns on her heel and walks out. When she reaches the great hall, Urvashi is sitting there waiting for her.
Urvashi: What happened, Jethani… ji?
Manisha: Don’t look so smug Urvashi. I’ll be back and when I do come back I will take my granddaughter away from all of this.
Urvashi: Well now you can just do whatever the hell it is you please. I’ve got nothing else to lose anyway.
Manisha: Good bye for now, Devrani… ji.
Manisha storms out of Chandra Mahel and Urvashi covers her face in her hands.
Urvashi: Stupid, stupid woman! The truth about Manasvi’s paternity was all I had going for me to keep Katya and Soumil in my grip. But now…
Just then Soumil and Katya walk in.
Soumil: We have something we want to say to you.
Urvashi looks up.
Soumil: Katya and I have decided to move to the Thakral Mansion since no one is occupying it at the moment.
Urvashi: You can’t just leave like that, what about the company? Anirudh is in New Zealand and I don’t know when he plans on coming back and now…
Soumil: You still have Nachiket and Dushyanth and Aksh and Rajind… They’ll help. I’m thinking about going back to my old business.
Urvashi stands up in a rage.
Urvashi: You can’t do that to me!
Katya: And what about everything you’ve been doing to us for all these years? Every day it was a case of Choti Ma this and Choti Ma that and what did you give us in return?
Urvashi: I cannot believe that…
Katya: Please Choti Ma, we’ve heard enough. Our decision is final. We’re leaving. Come on Soumil.
The two of them walk off and Urvashi looks pissed off. Later that night… Krithika is fast asleep but she is having a bad dream, only it’s not a dream but a flashback. She sees herself walking up to Kartik’s room and knocking on the door. She sees herself knocking over and over again.
Krithika: Dad… Dad… where are you Dad?
At that moment Rajind wakes up and looks at her.
Krithika: I have to tell Dad what’s going on. I have to tell him about what’s going on.
Rajind: Krihtika.
Krithika: Dad… Nakshatra is in trouble.
Rajind: Krithika…
Krithika: Dad open the door! Dad please open the door. Nakshatra is in trouble, they’ll kill him. She’ll kill him.
Rajind touches Krithika’s shoulder and she jumps up…
Krithika: NOO!!!
Rajind: Krithika it’s alright, you’re at home, you’re safe, you’re with me.
Krithika: Water.
Rajind quickly gets out of bed and brings her a glass of water. She drinks it all up and then lies down again. Not too long after she falls asleep. Rajind thinks to himself…
Rajind: Why is she talking about Nakshatra? What is going on in her head?
Then he has a flashback of his own…
Krithika: DON’T SHOUT AT ME! Nakshatra called me before he died! He told me everything on the phone… that’s when I called the police to send them to help him… That’s why I went looking for Dad… but it looks like you got him out of the way too…
End flashback…
Rajind: What if Krithika was telling the truth all those years ago? What if she wasn’t really losing her mind? What if she was right about Choti Ma? It can’t be true… no… no mother is capable of killing her own child. But… what if she did?
Then he has another flashback…
Krithika: Tell them… tell them how you made a deal with Rauktima Di… tell them how you made her convince Dad to marry you because you knew where Ashvini Bhabi was holding Shastra. Tell them!
End flashback…
Rajind: Choti Ma denied all those allegations and none of it was ever proved. Besdies, if Rauktima Di had actually made a deal with Choti Ma like Krithika was talking about, then it’s possible that Aksh would have known about it. But then again it’s also possible that he didn’t know… if he knew of such a thing he would have never kept it to himself. But just because he didn’t know about it that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen either. And the other thing is… no one really knew how Rauktima Di found Ashvini Bhabi in the end. But Aksh was with her when she found the baby… so he must know something. I have to find out what he knows. I have to know the truth.
The next day… Drishti comes back to Chandra Mahel. She walks in and sees Urvashi sitting in the great hall looking upset.
Drishti: Urvashi ji… I’m back.
Urvashi: Drishti ji… I didn’t hear you come in.
Drishti sits down.
Drishti: What’s wrong? You look upset.
Urvashi: Oh it’s nothing.
Drishti: Can’t be nothing. You can tell me if something is wrong.
Urvashi: Actually… there was a bit of a showdown here after you left.
Drishti: Oh? How come?
Urvashi: My Jethani arrived from Australia.
Drishti: Really?
Urvashi: Yes, she’s the mother of Manasvi’s biological father. She turned things upside down for me.
Drishti: Oh no… I hope things have returned to normal though.
Urvashi: They haven’t… Soumil and Katya have left Chandra Mahel with Manasvi. They’ve also left the company.
Drishti smiles to herself but quickly becomes sympathetic towards Urvashi.
Drishti: Not to worry Urvashi ji. Everything will be alright.
Urvashi: How can I even begin to think things are alright? Anirudh has gone to New Zealand and Soumil has left the house… They were my key pillars of support.
Drishti: But the rest of your family is with you. Besides, after the Amsterdam project is through, you won’t need any of them.
Urvashi looks up at Drishti when she hears this.
Drishti: What I mean is, you will be so successful, you can hire people with far superior qualifications to your nephews and your life will be sorted, you’ll be working with some of the biggest names from around the world. Then it will be all about you, you will rule supreme Urvashi ji.
Urvashi smiles at this and Drishti sees the greed in her eyes. Drishti thinks to herself…
Drishti: Now that I’ve got Soumil Bhaiyya and Anirudh away from you, it’s time to focus on the next target.
She leans back in her chair and then aloud she says…
Drishti: Urvashi ji there was another matter of business I wanted to discuss with you.
Urvashi: Oh?
Drishti: One of our investors is being very fussy about his contribution to this whole thing. He is asking that each of the partners double their spend on the project. I’m willing to do it of course because it’s no big deal for me, but I have to think of my other partners like you for example.
Urvashi: Well I’m sure I won’t have any issues with doubling my spend on the project, especially since I know it will be a success.
Drishti: Of course. But there is a way we can all keep our investments just the way they are and better yet, you can make some money out of it as well.
Urvashi: How is that?
Drishti: Well he’s informed me that he has interest in one of our subsidiaries. He wants to buy it off you.
Urvashi: Which one?
Drishti: The Singhania Group of Companies.
Urvashi is surprised to hear this.
Urvashi: But why that company?
Drishti: He says that he used to work closely with your late Jethani Mrs. Sangeeta Agnihotri and that before she passed away he was about to do a deal with her to buy the company and then… well anyway, when he heard that you were involved in this project he realized that the company is now a subsidiary of Agnihotri Incorporated and he is suggesting that he buy it off you.
Urvashi goes into deep thought.
Drishti: Think about it Urvashi ji, especially since he’s willing to pay triple the amount of your investment in the Amsterdam project for the company. None of the other partners will be benefiting off it and you would have spent absolutely nothing. You will be up on the deal even before the Amsterdam project starts.
Urvashi’s eyes are gleaming.
Urvashi: There is some paper work that I have to go through and I have to speak with Nachiket about this but tell your friend that we’ll be ready to sell in no time.
Drishti: See, this is why I like doing business with you. You see what you want and then you go after it. Not a lot of people are like you Urvashi ji. Thank goodness you’re on our side.
Urvashi laughs.
Drishti: I’m really tired now so if you don’t mind I’m going upstairs to rest. Will you let me know when we can work on the final details of selling Singhania?
Urvashi: Of course.
Drishti: Alright then, I’ll see you later.
Drishti walks away and Urvashi leans back in her chair with a smile on her face.
Urvashi: So what if Soumil and Anirudh are no longer here? No one can sink Urvashi Agnihotri. Triple the amount of my investment. Brilliant. I’ll be part of this project at literally no cost and then I’ll benefit off the profit of it as well. Now I’ll have to think of a crafty way to tackle Nachiket. But that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
And in Drishti’s room… She’s thinking to herself…
Drishti: You may see this as a deal of a lifetime Urvashi but you don’t know that you’re digging your own grave. If you knew the relationships of this house half as well as you ought to then you’ll know that that company is the legacy Sangeeta Chachi left Nachiket. When you ask him to part with it, you’ll be paving the way for him to part with you.
Episode 427
Kurukshetra – Episode 427
Manasvi walks into the middle of the conversation and looks petrified.
Katya: Manasvi… when did you…
Manisha looks pleased.
Manisha: Manasvi…
Urvashi: Uh… what are you doing home so early?
Manasvi: I forgot some stuff so I came back.
Urvashi: I see… well go and get your stuff. We’re having a grown up discussion here.
Manasvi hesitantly turns to leave when.
Manisha: Hold on just a minute.
Manasvi stops.
Manisha: Aren’t you going to introduce us, Devrani… ji?
Urvashi: Uh… yes of course… she uh… Manasvi, this is Manisha, your father’s Chachi.
Manisha: Yes, I’m your adopted father’s Chachi.
Katya stares daggers at Manisha.
Manisha: And I’m your real father’s mother.
Manasvi looks confused.
Manasvi: Real father?
Katya: Manasvi, go get your things.
Manisha: She’s not going anywhere until she hears the entire truth.
Soumil: Chachi don’t do this.
Manisha: I think we’re a bit beyond that now. Manasvi, Soumil is your mother’s second husband. She was married before, to my son, Soorya Kapoor. You are Soorya’s daughter, not Soumil’s.
Manasvi looks like she’s been hit by a thunderbolt.
Manasvi: What are you saying? This is my Dad. I don’t know any Soorya Kapoor.
Urvashi: Exactly. Jethani ji, what are you saying?
Manisha: I’m saying what is true.
Katya: Stop this nonsense.
Manisha: This isn’t nonsense. This is the truth. Your mother was pregnant with you when she decided to…
Soumil: CHACHI!
Manisha: What’s the matter Soumil? I’m just educating this child on her family’s history.
Katya: Manasvi go to your room.
Manasvi: Mom I…
Katya: I said go to your room!
Manasvi runs upstairs. Katya turns to Manisha in a rage.
Katya: Family history? Do you really want to talk family history with me? Weren’t you the one who showed up at this doorstep pregnant before marriage?
Manisha: Katya!
Katya: It’s very easy to point fingers at others but when the finger is pointed at you then it’s very difficult to bear isn’t it? Isn’t it?
Manisha: You can say what you want to say but I’m taking Manasvi with me and that’s that.
Katya: And I’m saying to you for the last time, my daughter isn’t going anywhere! Do you hear me?
Katya turns on her heel and rushes upstairs.
Soumil: You’ve done a very bad thing Chachi. I will never forgive you for this.
Soumil heads upstairs as well. Urvashi blows some air out of her mouth and turns to Manisha.
Urvashi: Now that we’ve established the fact that you can’t keep your mouth shut you might as well have some tea or would you like something cool instead?
Manisha: Do you have any coffee?
Urvashi: Ramdas! Bring Manisha Madam some coffee and make me a cup too while you’re at it. I think we’re both going to need it.
Meanwhile in Manasvi’s room she looks distraught. Both Katya and Soumil walk in.
Soumil: Manasvi…
She looks up at them and stands up.
Manasvi: What is going on here? What is that woman saying? Who is she really?
Katya: Manasvi please listen to me.
Manasvi: I don’t want to listen to anything you have to say if you’re going to tell me that what she said is true.
Soumil: Sweetheart please try and understand…
Manasvi: Understand what Dad? Are you saying that you really aren’t my father?
Katya: Manasvi… this man who’s standing before you is your father in every sense of the word do you hear me?
Manasvi: Then who is Soorya Kapoor?
Katya: He’s a son of this family, just like your father.
Manasvi: And is he my real father?
Katya: I…
Soumil: Listen we’ll just…
Manasvi: Stop avoiding the question! Is he or is he not my real father?
Katya: Yes he is!
Manasvi looks shocked.
Katya: He is your biological father yes.
Manasvi: Mom what are you saying?
Katya: Listen to me. You don’t have to think about him you don’t even have to know him. He was gone away from our lives long before you were even born. Soumil is the one who took care of you, who brought you up, who stayed up with you late in the night when you were ill, he is your real father, not Soorya.
Manasvi: Mom all these things you’re talking about doesn’t mean a thing to me if you’ve lied to me about who I am all these years. I’m not even an Agnihotri.
Soumil: Manasvi don’t say that…
Manasvi: I feel as though I don’t even know the two of you anymore.
She runs out of the room.
Katya: Manasvi!
Soumil: Let her go. She needs some time to herself.
Katya: What are we going to do?
Meanwhile… back downstairs… Urvashi and Manisha are having coffee…
Urvashi: So how did you find out about the attempted kidnapping again?
Manisha: I received an anonymous phone call.
Urvashi: That’s strange. That’s the second anonymous phone call that’s been made to your house in the past month.
Manisha: Well I don’t really care about that. All I care about is my granddaughter’s safety. I’m taking her back with me one way or the other.
Urvahsi: Even if she doesn’t want to go?
Manisha: We’ll see about that. This is good coffee by the way.
Urvashi: Thank you, I had it specially flown in from Paris.
Manisha: I didn’t know there were a lot of coffee drinkers there.
Urvashi: Neither did I. Can I get you something to eat?
Manisha: No I’m not that hungry.
Urvashi: So that’s how you maintain this figure at this age.
Manisha gives Urvashi a sarcastic look.
Manisha: Age? How old do you think I am?
Urvashi: Well I would assume you were older than me.
Manisha: And how old would you be?
Urvashi: Younger than you.
Manisha: You’re avoiding the question Devrani… ji.
Urvashi: Avoidance is a good thing; I wish you’d learned it sooner in life, Jethani… ji.
They both sip on their coffee without another word. Meanwhile… Dushyanth is spending time with Krithika in her room.
Dushyanth: Look at what’s happened to us Didi. Did you ever think we’d live to see this day? When we were teenagers all of you used to want to do all kinds of fun things all the time and all I wanted to do was sit in a corner and sulk. When we grew older everyone wanted a piece of the family business and all I wanted to do was my own thing. But all those seem like such small things I’ve faced in life compared to what it has become today. Look at us now, all of you are trapped in a different world by the same force and I seem to be the only one who’s free. But not even I can help you. I wish you would get better soon Didi… you know us brothers can’t do a thing without our sisters. We miss you. Look at that Anirudh Bhaiyya, it took him this long to realize that he wasn’t spending enough time with his family. Poor Manasvi was almost kidnapped. And Poornima Bhabi… she’s just the limit, I don’t know how Nachiket Bhaiyya has put up with her all these years. Didi… please say something.
He stops for a moment and stares at Krithika but she looks distant. Dushyanth shakes his head. Then he stands up to leave… then suddenly…
Krithika: I have to tell Dad.
Dushyanth turns around slowly and looks at her.
Dushyanth: What did you say?
Krithika: I have to tell Dad.
Dushyanth: What do you need to tell him?
Krithika: I have to tell him the truth, before it’s too late.
Dushyanth: What truth? Krithika Di, what truth do you have to tell him? Talk to me.
Krithika: Nakshatra…
Dushyanth’s eyes go wide.
Dushyanth: Nakshatra… what about Nakshatra? Didi… Didi…
But Krithika has gone back to looking lost. Dushyanth thinks to himself…
Dushyanth: What does Krithika Di know about Nakshatra that she wants to tell Kartik Chachu?
Meanwhile… Soumil and Katya are consoling each other in their room when Manisha walks in.
Manisha: Where is Manasvi?
Soumil: She is none of your concern.
Manisha: Look Soumil I’m too old to play games with you. Give me my granddaughter and I’ll be on my way.
Katya: You had no right to come here and do what you did. You can’t just play with someone’s life like that. How dare you just tell her that Soumil is not her father?
Manisha: Well he’s not.
Katya: Yes but to her he is.
Manisha: Well the truth was bound to come out sooner or later and once she meets Soorya she will feel much better. I plan on taking her away from the daily drama here at Chandra Mahel just like I took the rest of my family away from here.
Katya: That is not your decision to make. Besides if Soorya really wanted to see his daughter then he would have come here himself.
Manisha: After all the pain this family put him through, I don’t think so.
Soumil: This family never put him through any pain.
Manisha: Right. I don’t think even you believe that.
Katya: Soorya is the one who put this family through pain.
Manisha: Don’t you dare turn your filth on my son!
Katya: I made a mistake but I never crossed my limits. Your son decided to find comfort in the arms of a prostitute or have you forgotten that part of the story? He left here not even knowing that I was pregnant with his child. I would have been lost if Soumil hadn’t decided to marry me and bring this child up as his own.
Manisha: Oh what a tragedy.
Katya: You know you’re pretty good at showing up here and shooting your mouth off and claiming rights to all sorts of relationships. Where were you when I was pregnant with your granddaughter? Where were you when she was born? Where were you all these years when she was growing up? We have done everything for Manasvi as her parents and you and your son haven’t even bothered to pick up the phone and check up on how she was. Now you’re here because you received some phone call that told you about her attempted kidnapping? That’s very rich.
Manisha is growing very angry now.
Manisha: As much as I would enjoy tearing you apart in this battle of words you have going here, my time is precious, too precious to spend on a lose woman like yourself.
Soumil: Watch it Chachi! You’re talking to my wife.
Manisha: She was my Bahu first.
Soumil: And what a pity you didn’t know how to keep it that way.
Manisha: You listen to me…
But she is unable to complete her sentence when Manasvi walks back into the room.
Manasvi: Please stop fighting. I have something to say to all of you. I know you all have my best interests in mind but I can think for myself and I have decided on what I want.
All three look at Manasvi as the tension builds.
Double Dhamaka – Episodes 425 & 426
Kurukshetra – Episode 425
The next day, Krithika is sitting on the terrace staring into space when Drishti walks in. She sees Krithika from a distance and then looks around to see if anyone else is there. She then walks over to her and sits down.
Drishti: Krithika?
Krithika continues to stare into space.
Drishti: Krithika I don’t have a lot of time but I need to say something to you. I’m really happy that you’re back home and guess what, so am I. It’s me Krithika… your Rauktima Di.
Krithika continues to stare into space.
Drishti: I’m sorry about what happened when you came into the house. I’m doing something very important right now. I’m on a mission to rid our family of the curse that has been placed on it. The curse whose name is Urvashi! Look at what she’s done to you, what she’s done to all of us. I’m going to get us out of this mess. I’m going to teach her a lesson and I’m going to avenge each and every one of us. I need you to be brave for me ok. I need you to not be upset if I say mean things to you because I will. That’s the only way I’ll be able to stay clear of Urvashi’s radar and continue this act as Drishti. There is so much I have to do in this short time and knowing that you are here makes things so much easier for me. She killed Nakshatra and sent Kartik Chachu to jail for something he didn’t do. I promise you she will be punished for that and I will bring Kartik Chachu back home and Chandra Mahel will be the place it has always been. But for now your Rauktima Di has to stay dead for everyone’s sake ok. Be strong little sis. Everything will be ok soon.
She gets up to leave and as she does she feels a tug on her sari. She smiles and turns back but sees that her sari has just got caught on the edge of the chair. She removes her pallu slowly and then walks off. When she has left the terrace, Krithika turns around to look at where she went…
Meanwhile… Manasvi arrives at college. The people who are watching her on Urvashi’s command are keeping close watch. Just then some other people come over and light cigarettes near their car. The men inside the car try to keep watch but see that these other people are blocking their view. One of the men puts his head out of the car.
Man1: Hey get out of the way.
The people standing outside don’t pay him any attention. At the same time, another man approaches Manasvi and tries to grab her.
Manasvi: Hey!
She screams as she turns around. The man tries to advance on her and she starts to run. He follows her. The men sitting in the car notice Manasvi running and get out of the car. The other people block their path and a fight ensues. Manasvi continues to run and the man continues to follow her.
Manasvi: Stop following me you creep!
Manasvi runs as fast as she can and she almost falls over but she catches her balance and continues to run. She takes a turn and just then a white van appears out of nowhere, the door flings open and some people grab Manasvi and throw her in. The van drives off and the man who is following her stops in his tracks. Back at the car park the fight stops and the people who arrived there make a run for it. The men who were supposed to watch over Manasvi start looking around. Meanwhile… the thug who was after Manasvi calls Drishti.
Drishti: Hello?
Thug: Madam, did you order a van to pick the girl up?
Drishti: No I thought you people were doing that.
Thug: Well we were supposed to and a van picked her up but I’m not sure if it’s our van.
Drishti: What? Well look for it you idiot! I want that girl back home safe do you understand?
Thug: Yes Madam.
He hangs up and Drishti looks nervous. Meanwhile… one of the men in charge of looking for Manasvi takes out his phone and calls Urvashi.
Urvashi: Hello?
Man: Madam, we’ve had a small problem.
Urvashi: What sort of problem?
Man: Well some thugs came over to the car and we got into a little fight and now we’ve lost your granddaughter.
Urvashi: WHAT? Well what are you doing talking to me? Find her you fool! I want her back home safe!
Man: Yes Madam!
He hangs up and Urvashi looks annoyed. Back at the scene of the encounter, both parties are looking for Manasvi and the van that took her. Suddenly the same van appears out of nowhere, the door opens and they throw Manasvi out. The Thug who was sent by Drishti sees this and almost goes over to her but then he sees the Men who were sent by Urvashi going over to her. Manasvi gets off the ground and sees the men coming toward her.
Manasvi: Stay where you are!
Man1: It’s ok, it’s ok your Dadi sent us to watch over you.
Manasvi: How do I know you’re telling the truth?
Man1: We’ll call her right now and you can talk to her yourself.
Manasvi looks skeptical and the man quickly takes his phone out and calls Urvashi.
Man1: Madam, we found her. She wants to talk to you.
Urvashi: Put her on.
The man gives the phone to Manasvi.
Manasvi: Hello?
Urvashi: Manasvi are you alright?
Manasvi: I’m fine now Dadi but I someone tried to kidnap me.
Urvashi: What? Never mind just get into the car with the men who are with you, they will bring you home.
Manasvi: Ok.
She hangs up and then leaves with the two men. Meanwhile the Thug calls Drishti.
Drishti: What happened?
Thug: The van came back and threw her out.
Drishti: Thank God!
Thug: But I’m still not sure if it was the van we organized.
Drishti: Well find out and let me know.
Thug: Yes Madam.
They hang up and Drishti looks relieved.
Drishti: Thank God Manasvi is alright. But now the fireworks will start. Not long after Manasvi arrives at Chandra Mahel and goes running inside.
Manasvi: MOM! MOM!
At that moment Katya comes running out of her room. She goes downstairs and Urvashi goes down as well.
Katya: Manasvi, what is it?
Manasvi: Mom, the most horrible thing happened.
Katya: What? What happened?
Manasvi: I was walking into college and then this horrible looking man started to follow me and I ran as fast as I could but then this van came out of nowhere and they tried to kidnap me and…
Katya: What?
Urvashi: But you’re alright now aren’t you?
Manasvi: Well… I don’t know… I just kicked and screamed and scratched and they drove around the block a few times and then threw me out.
Katya: Oh my goodness… we have to call the cops.
Urvashi: Now, now there’s no need for that.
Katya: How can you say that? My daughter was almost kidnapped.
Urvashi: Yes but they let her go.
Katya: She got lucky!
Urvashi: Katya come on. My people were watching her and…
Katya: Is that why someone managed to swoop her away with such a lot of ease? Is that why she was almost kidnapped? I should have known that you would never stick to your word. I have stood by you just like I promised I would but you have broken your promise to me today.
Urvashi: Now listen, that’s not fair.
Katya: What’s not fair is that you think you can do whatever you want whenever you want and that the rest of us will just continue dancing to your tune. I’m done with you. I told you that if anything happened to Manasvi that I would end our little deal and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
Urvashi: Katya…
Katya: No I’m done talking to you. Come on Manasvi.
Katya leads Manasvi away and Urvashi holds her head. She then sees the two men she put in charge of Manasvi and walks up to them. She slaps them both hard across the face.
Urvashi: You imbeciles! Do you have any idea what could have happened today? Do you? Get out of my sight and don’t show your faces here again!
The two of them leave and Urvashi is frothing mad. Drishti has observed all of this from her secret hideout. She thinks to herself…
Drishti: Mission accomplished.
Just then her phone rings. She looks at the number and sees that her thug is calling back.
Drishti: Tell me.
Thug: Madam, the van wasn’t sent by us.
Drishti: What are you talking about? If you didn’t send the van then who did?
Thug: We don’t know.
Drishti: Well that’s not good enough, find out!
Thug: Ok. We’ll keep in touch.
The line goes dead and Drishti thinks to herself again.
Drishti: So someone really is after Manasvi and whoever it is got very close to getting her today. But who could this be? Thank God she’s safe or I would never have been able to forgive myself for what happened.
Not long after… Soumil arrives home. He goes straight upstairs to his room and finds both his wife and daughter there.
Soumil: Is everything alright?
Katya: Everything is fine now.
He rushes over to Manasvi and hugs her.
Soumil: What happened?
Manasvi: Some people tried to kidnap me but I managed to get away.
Soumil turns to Katya.
Soumil: What is the meaning of all this?
Katya: Soumil, I didn’t want to alarm you with any of this but…
Soumil: Alarm me? My daughter was almost kidnapped today!
Katya: I know…
Soumil: What are you not telling me?
Katya: Well at first there were these phone calls and… then someone sent me some photographs of Manasvi that were taken at the college and…
Soumil: Someone has been stalking her all this time and you chose to hide it from me?
Katya: I told you I didn’t want to alarm you!
Soumil: I’m her father! This sort of thing is supposed to alarm me! How could you hide this from me? What precaution did you think you can take?
Katya: I didn’t, which is why I went to Choti Ma and asked her for protection.
Suddenly things sink into Soumil’s head.
Soumil: Wait a minute, this wouldn’t have something to do with your change of behavior would it?
Katya remains silent.
Soumil: Oh my goodness! That does it!
Soumil storms out of the room.
Katya: Soumil!
Manasvi: Mom where is he going?
Soumil storms through the house and arrives at Urvashi’s room.
Soumil: You!
Urvashi: Soumil, is there something I can help you with?
Soumil: I have had just about enough of you do you hear me!
Urvashi: What is going on?
Soumil: You made a deal with my wife on my daughter’s safety? You bought her vote in return for protecting Manasvi? Everything is about what works out best for you isn’t it? Everything is about you! Anything could have happened to Manasvi today and all you seem to care about is yourself! You know what? I’m through with you!
Kurukshetra – Episode 426
Urvashi is stunned at Soumil’s behavior.
Urvahsi: Put your voice down and don’t forget whom you’re talking to.
Soumil: I know whom I’m talking to and I also know that I’ve had it with you.
Urvashi: Watch what you say Soumil.
Soumil: I’m through with sucking up to you and keeping up pretenses with you and watching you tear this family apart. I’m just so ashamed of myself because I had to wait till this long to figure things out. I’m pulling out of the business and I’m re-joining the Thakral Business and if need be I will move out of this house do you hear me.
Just then Katya comes running in as well.
Katya: Soumil don’t do this…
Soumil: Just shut up and stay out of this. You should have known better than to go to this woman. All she cares about is herself. That’s all she’s ever cared about. We’re leaving, do you hear me Choti Ma? We’re leaving!
Soumil turns to go and then…
Urvashi: Wait.
He stops and Katya looks over to Urvashi. She talks with a cold calm tone.
Urvashi: How dare you walk into my room and assume you can take that tone of voice with me. How dare you think you can just decide to walk out and that I will let you. You’re not going anywhere Soumil.
Soumil turns around, anger dripping from his eyes.
Soumil: What are you going to do to stop me?
Urvashi: Well if I can’t stop you then I can’t stop you but I can make a phone call to Australia and ask Soorya if he would like to come to Chandra Mahel and visit his daughter!
Both Soumil and Katya are shocked by this.
Katya: You wouldn’t…
Urvashi: Oh come on, you know me better than that. Of course I would. If you decide to leave Chandra Mahel and Agnihotri Inc. then be rest assured that your daughter will know the truth about her birth. I will make it happen Soumil. So the decision is yours.
Soumil: You heartless…
Urvashi: Spare me the profanity. It’s been a long day for all of us. You’ve all been through a lot. Take a shower get something to eat and let’s resume life normally shall we? Now get out of my room and the next time, knock before you walk in.
Both Soumil and Katya know that Urvashi means business. So they silently leave the room and close the door behind them. Urvashi shakes her head disdainfully. But unknown to all of them, Drishti has been listening to all this in secret.
Drishti: I said it before and I will say it again. Everyone in this family is going to have to face their past sooner or later. If Anirudh and Jaya could have faced what they did and survived it then surely, Soumil Bhaiyya and Katya Bhabi can too. Urvashi is only making threats because she knows that’s the only way to maintain control. But Drishti won’t make any threats, Drishti simply does… The time has come for the next thunderbolt to hit Chandra Mahel.
Meanwhile… the cousins have gathered in Manasvi’s room.
Shastra: How are you feeling now?
Manasvi: Better Didi.
Geet: So you didn’t get a good look at those guys?
Manasvi: No Bhaiyya I was too busy kicking and screaming. All I wanted to do was escape.
Shubh: But who would do such a thing?
Manasvi: I don’t know but according to what I gathered from Mom and Dad’s conversation, this has been going on for some time now.
Shubh: That’s just crazy.
Shastra: But who would do such a thing?
Geet: I hate to say it but the past few days have shown us that there’s a lot we don’t know about our family’s past.
Shubh: It is rather unsettling isn’t it?
Manasvi: But seriously though guys, I’m ok now. Thanks for being so concerned.
Shastra: Of course we’re concerned. Things seem to be spinning at an ungodly rate these past few days. I hope Nikhil is ok.
Geet: I’m sure he will be.
Later that day… Drishti goes to see Urvashi.
Drishti: Urvashi ji.
Urvashi: Come in Drishti ji. What is it?
Drishti: I have to fly off to Amsterdam urgently to sign the final documents of the deal. Once that is done we can move ahead with our project.
Urvashi: That is excellent news. So will you be coming back to Chandra Mahel when you get back to India?
Drishti: Well I don’t know… there’s so much going on here and I don’t want to be in the way.
Urvashi: Nonsense. You’re not in the way.
Drishti: Yes well my work in Delhi is not quite complete yet. But if it is a bother I can check in to a hotel on arriving back.
Urvashi: Don’t be silly. You have to stay here. You’re like family now.
Drishti: Thank you so much. I’ll be back in a few days.
Urvashi: Alright then. Have a safe flight.
Drishti: Thanks.
Drishti walks out of the room and thinks to herself…
Drishti: Leaving in the middle of all this is very important. This will help evade suspicion. But just because I’m gone doesn’t mean you won’t have your hands full Urvashi. I’ve already set the next time bomb in place and it will explode at any minute.
The next day… Drishti has left and everything at Chandra Mahel seems to be moving along at a calm pace… But as we all know, at Chandra Mahel, nothing stays calm for long. The doorbell rings. Urvashi is at the breakfast table by herself.
Urvashi: Ramdas. See who’s at the door.
Ramdas rushes to the door and opens it. He smiles when he sees the person standing outside.
Ramdas: Oh my goodness, Madam, you’re here?. It is so good to see you after all these years. Please come inside.
The woman at the door walks inside and looks around Chandra Mahel. She then makes her way towards the breakfast table. Urvashi doesn’t look up.
Urvashi: Who is it Ramdas?
Woman: What’s the matter? Don’t I deserve a welcome?
Urvashi slowly puts her paper down and looks up. She stands up as soon as she sees who’s standing in front of her.
Urvashi: You? What are you doing here?
Woman: I’m here to see my granddaughter.
Urvashi feels a lump get stuck in her throat. She moves away from the table and walks over to the woman.
Urvashi: What the hell are you talking about? You know you’re not supposed to address her as such. These are family secrets that must be kept that way.
Woman: For whose benefit? Yours or mine?
Urvashi: For all our benefit.
Woman: Listen Urvashi, the best interest of this family may be your concern but it certainly isn’t my concern. My only concern is my family and Manasvi is a very important part of that family. After all she’s not just anyone, she’s Manisha Kapoor’s granddaughter!
And with that Manisha turns away from Urvashi to look around at Chandra Mahel once more. She walks over to the great hall and smiles. Manisha is dressed in pale colors. She too has aged but very gracefully. She has very light jewelry on and has her pallu over her shoulder. Her hair is tied in a bun and she has no grays. Urvashi walks into the great hall as well.
Manisha: I have to admit Devrani ji, you’ve done a good job with this house. It doesn’t look like the old relic it used to.
Urvashi: Takes a lot of effort to keep it that way, Jethani ji.
Manisha turns to face Urvashi.
Manisha: I want to see Manasvi. Where is she?
Urvashi: She’s not at home right now.
Manisha: Well then I’ll see her when she gets back.
Urvashi: You’re planning on staying that long?
Manisha: As long as it takes to convince her to come back to Australia with me.
Urvashi: What? And why would she do that?
Manisha: Because that’s where she belongs, with her father and her grandmother.
Urvashi: Listen… Jethani… ji, this is Manasvi’s home and this is exactly where she’s going to stay.
Manisha: Oh I think we should leave that option to her don’t you think… Devrani… ji?
Urvashi starts panicking… She thinks to herself…
Urvashi: If this Yashoda Maiyya opens her big mouth in front of Manasvi and reveals the truth about her paternity then I lose my grip over Soumil and Katya. I have to get her out of here one way or the other before Manasvi gets back home.
Just then Soumil walks in and is shocked to see Manisha.
Soumil: Chachi? What are you doing here?
Manisha: I’m here to collect my granddaughter.
Soumil: What?
Manisha: You heard me Soumil. I’m here to take Manasvi back to Australia with me.
Soumil: You have no right to do that.
Manisha: Of course I do. A paternity test will prove that Manasvi is not your daughter but Soorya’s. And as Soorya’s mother, I have all the right to take Manasvi with me.
Soumil: Manasvi is my daughter.
Manisha: Stop living in a fantasy world Beta. Just because we say the sky is orange doesn’t mean it is does it? Likewise, just because you say you’re Manasvi’s father doesn’t mean you are.
At that moment Katya walks in.
Katya: Soumil has every right to call himself Manasvi’s father.
Manisha sees Katya and narrows her eyes.
Manisha: Come, come, come… you were the only member of this panel discussion that was missing.
Katya: There will be no discussion. Manasvi isn’t going anywhere.
Manisha: We’ll see about that.
Katya: There is nothing left to see. This is her home and we are her parents.
Manisha: Everyone is allowed to have a little bit of bad blood in them, so I have no choice but to accept that you are Manasvi’s mother my dear, but Soumil is not her father. Unless… there’s something you’re not telling us.
Katya looks shocked.
Manisha: I mean we all know that the two of you were lovers long before you got married.
Katya: How dare you…
Manisha: Shut up! Don’t forget that I’m still your elder in this house and that means you talk to me with respect. And as for you Soumil, maybe taking other people’s dirty laundry into your backyard is what you do, but let it go now. Raising a girl child isn’t easy and you’ve managed quite well in the past years but… I hear that Manasvi was almost kidnapped.
Urvashi: It’s like there’s a BBC channel attached directly from Delhi to Australia. If someone sneezes in this house someone from your house comes running in to save the day. How noble of all of you.
Manisha: Urvashi, this doesn’t concern you, why don’t you go do something that is worth your while.
Urvashi: Everything that happens in this house concerns me Manisha… Bhabi.
Manisha: Fine, then when Manasvi comes home you can tell her the truth and we can be on our way.
Soumil: This is not a game, we’re talking about my daughter’s life.
Manisha: And I keep reminding you that she is not your daughter.
Soumil: Maybe not by blood. But in every other sense I am the only father that girl has known and I won’t let your arrogance dictate the terms of her life do you hear me?
Manisha: I’m sorry Soumil but I’m not leaving this house till I have told Manasvi the truth. I’m not leaving until I have told her that you are not her real father. Your just the man her mother left her father for.
Katya: You know that’s not how things happened.
Manisha: You know, I never really liked you as my Bahu and knowing that you are the mother of my grandchild makes me feel a lot worse. Could you please shut that trap of yours for a little while so I can talk to someone sensible about this issue?
Katya: Manasvi is my daughter and she’s not going anywhere.
Manisha: Manasvi is my granddaughter and she is coming with me.
Urvashi: Manasvi…
Everyone looks at Urvashi and then follows her gaze to see Manasvi at the front door.
